CHRISTIAN JAMES
I could clearly see Charlie’s legs trembling after she came, and there was no denying from her expression that she loved what I had done to her. I knew she was going to love what I was about to do next even more, but f**k! Before I could even make my move, she beat me to it.
Just a moment ago, her eyes had been closed, but when she opened them again, she suddenly surged forward like we were wrestling, flipping me onto my back until she was straddling me.
She immediately reached for me.
Damn. The heat of her palm felt incredible, but what she did next felt even better.
“Ahhh!” We groaned in unison as she settled over me, drawing a sharp reaction from both of us.
Fvck, Charlie felt so damn good.
I’ll admit that I had been with other women while we were apart, but nothing could ever compare to her. Nothing came close to the heat, the familiarity, and the way she could make me lose control with nothing more than a single touch.
Now that we were finally together again, I knew one thing for certain.
She was the only woman I wanted.
Driven by pure frenzy, I sat up, grabbed the back of her neck, and pulled her into a fierce, aggressive kiss. She kissed me back with equal force, our lips colliding with all the frustration and longing we had carried for five damn years.
“Damn, you feel so fvcking good, Charlie. You couldn’t even wait. You really wanted me that badly?” I panted between our deep kisses.
“Damn you too, CJ. You talk too damn much. You took forever!” she shot back breathlessly, her words completely betrayed by the way she clung to me.
A grin tugged at my lips.
That was my Charlie.
Still feisty. Still fearless. Still capable of driving me completely insane.
She moved against me, and I swear my head spun. Every movement brought back memories I had spent years trying to bury.
I caught her hips, guiding her closer as our kisses grew more desperate.
The cabin filled with the sounds of our ragged breathing and muffled groans, while everything outside seemed to disappear.
For those few moments, there was no wedding.
No Gretchen.
No family.
No debts.
No five-million-dollar deal.
There was only Charlie and me.
And God, I had missed this woman.
A few moments later, the overwhelming rush finally broke through whatever control I had left. Charlie collapsed forward, wrapping her arms tightly around my neck as I pulled her into my embrace.
“You feel so amazing, Charlie. You’re incredible,” I whispered against her skin.
I heard her let out a soft laugh as we stayed wrapped in each other’s arms on the bed.
I honestly didn’t know how long we simply lay there holding each other until I heard her whisper again.
“I want more,” she murmured, pressing a warm kiss against my ear.
A smirk immediately broke across my face.
Of course she did.
The effect of those three little words was almost instantaneous.
Because she wanted more, I gently turned her onto her back and settled above her. I stared down at her gorgeous face, and I f*****g swear, I was never going to let us get separated again.
The moment she had snatched me away from my supposed bride, something inside me had finally stopped fighting what I had known all along.
No one else had any right to me.
Only her.
I reached for her lips again, but this time, the kiss was soft and tender.
A kiss filled with genuine affection.
I knew she’d probably call me crazy, but she was the only woman I had ever truly loved. And looking into her eyes, I could feel that whatever had once existed between us was still there.
Maybe it had never disappeared at all.
We kissed slowly, savoring the warmth of each other instead of rushing through the moment.
If earlier we had been driven by pure hunger, this time felt different.
This time, we were making love.
We shared soft, lingering kisses as I held her close, allowing us to fully savor the warmth and familiarity of being together again.
Charlie answered every kiss with one of her own, her arms locked tightly around my back.
“Ahhh... keep going,” she whispered breathlessly.
I smiled against her lips before pulling her closer.
Her fingers tightened against my back, and I buried my face into the crook of her neck, concentrating entirely on the rhythm of our movements.
Our breathing grew heavier again as the tenderness slowly gave way to renewed passion.
The cabin seemed to disappear around us.
All I could hear was her voice, feel her arms around me, and hear my own heart pounding like a damn i***t.
Our groans echoed softly inside the small cabin, swallowed by the thick walls and the endless forest outside.
Then I heard her whisper my name.
“CJ...”
The way she said it nearly destroyed the last bit of control I had.
I held her tighter, overwhelmed by everything I had been feeling since the moment I saw her again.
The woman I had spent five years searching for was finally in my arms.
My Charlie.
And I wasn't going to lose her again.
I buried my face against the side of her neck, holding her as tightly as I could.
“Ahhh... I love you, Charlie,” I whispered.
The words escaped before I could stop them.
“I love you. I love you.”
I closed my eyes and held her even tighter.
For the first time in five years, I finally felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
