"Dropping out never crossed my mind," Carlos replied.
"You seemed depressed when your motorcycle friend stopped coming around."
"You mean, Jesse?" Carlos replied, wondering if Shiv overheard a conversation or read one of Tulio’s letters and knew more than he was letting on.
"Yeah, where is Jesse now?" Shiv insisted.
"Dead," Carlos answered.
