An Awkward Arrival
For Blemm, the ride to Central City passed quickly. He was surprised to find Eli to be one of the more fascinating people he’d met in a long time. The old man told him all about his life growing up on a farm in central Lorr. His father had been a farmer, as had his father before him and so on, back for generations. His family fully expected Eli to continue the family tradition, but he’d had other aspirations. He left home when he was only fifteen and journeyed north, determined to make a life of his own away from the farm. He had little money, and so he worked odd jobs where he could find them to get by.
