Thirteen Morning Meals With Mariah Mariah sat on the edge of the sofa in the top floor penthouse of Lorr Tower and looked out upon the vast horizon. From this height, the ugliness of the city fell away quickly, giving way to the glorious landscape of the Atlas Mountains beyond. She wrung her hands nervously. Her mind was anywhere but on the view. A small blackbird sat perched on the safety rail of the balcony looking at her. She tapped the glass door gently in greeting.
