Chapter 2 -paws

Shane

As we watch the flowers spread all around her I notice they look golden, I manage to get lily of me and walk toward my mate. I stop at the flowers and reach down, these flowers shined like real gold, i pick one and place it in my pocket to get someone to look at it and find out why these all grew around her. I start to walk towards her and the flowers move out my way. I lift her into my arms and I feel the mate sparks. I make my way to my floor in the pack house and the flowers seem to disappear in the distance and then reappear behind me, like they are following her, my mother is screaming that I can’t be with a human when she starts screaming in my arms as I walk through the pack house door.

Hayley

I wake up and my entire body hurt, like I was burning and being torn apart, I couldn’t help the scream that left me, when I realise I’m in a man’s arms I push away and land on my back end. I get up after a few seconds and then my leg cracks and I think it’s broken and then everywhere else starts cracking and moving, I drop to the floor and scream, i feel my body breaking, it’s extreme agony, I can’t breathe or move it’s like I fell from a 10 story building, I try to keep calm and I just close my eyes for just a moment to breathe when the pain stops and when I open them…. Everything is so much clearer, like the colours are brighter, everything smells so much stronger, I can hear the wind blowing outside and people whispering around me, I looked down and that’s when I realise I have paws, white paws, I look to my left and see a mirror, and see im a wolf, not just any wolf a white one, as white as snow, ice blue eyes except the tip of my tail is black. I don’t know what to do, how do I change back? why am I like this? I was so focused on the fact I was a wolf that I don’t notice when everyone around me is staring wide eyed, I don’t hear a man try and approach me till he’s touching me. Petting me like a dog, I can’t help the growl that escapes me and he laughs, a woman behind him is glaring at me and the older woman looks a mix between happy and angry. Not sure why though, so I do the only thing I can think of, and I run. But that was easier said than done, after a few attempts of walking and After falling a few times flat on my face I manage to keep myself steady and I look around and see the door behind everyone is still wide open,nobody thought to close it, so I run out the house down the stairs and run towards the woods, I don’t know how far I run till I see a stream and stop, and then a blurr of black hits me from the side I turn to look at it and it’s a gorgeous black wolf with a white tip on its tail, quite a handsome wolf and it smells amazing, like chocolate and fresh strawberries but then everything goes black, again.

When I wake up again I’m laying on a huge bed, it’s extremely comfy, but I start to freak out, where am i? How did I get here? Then I look down and seem I’m naked, but naked. I I start to look around the room and see 2 doors on against the same wall as the bed and one round the corner, on the wall left of me there’s a nightstand at either side of the bed and wardrobe and drawers across from the bed against the far wall with a large tv above the drawers, there’s a desk and chair to the left of me next to a large glass door that lead to a balcony, I see a jumper on the chair so I run over to put it on, not sure whose it is but I can’t make a run for it out of here naked. the room is mostly white with just the furniture being black, there’s some paintings with colour around the room. Quite a bland but posh looking room, probably a man’s room, I stand to go to the door next to the bed and find it’s a bathroom, large shower with a glass sliding door to the right and a bath straight ahead, the bath is more like a jacuzzi, how big is this room? As I step further in I see the toilet and sink to the left and a shelf with men’s shampoo, body wash, a toothbrush and toothpaste, Definetly a man’s room with lack of any decorative touches haha. I turn to head to the other door, when I get to the door I try the handle, relieved it’s not locked, once I open it I’m met with the handsome man from earlier staring down at me, then suddenly a smirk appears on his face as he looks at my jumper but doesn’t say anything.

Scarlet

My son has always resisted lily, I’m not particularly fond of her either but she was my best friends daughter, my best friend Lana died in a rouge attack when lily was 3 saving my life. I did my best to make up for it, be a mother figure but her father Lana’s mate never let me forget what happened, and that I was the reason she was dead, he’s been forcing me to mate my son to his daughter. She’s grew up spoiled and thinks she’s above everyone because she’s the only ranked female, the gamma only had sons, her father my mates beta had her and a son to his second chance mate who he has never loved, she eventually rejected him and moved to the other side of the pack with their son, he didn’t try to stop it, hasn’t even bothered with his son he’s too busy drinking or blackmailing me to get his daughter with Shane.

But then that girl showed up. I’m not sure what’s going to happen now, Shane will never willingly be with lily now that he has found his true mate, when those flowers grew around her I knew, she was a royal wolf, royals were killed around 15 years ago, killed is a nice way of putting it, they were all slaughtered and killed brutally. the rouge king wanted the king and queens newborn as his mate when she came of age, and they forbade it unless he was her true mate, the rouge king was enraged, but wouldn’t wait to find out so he tried kidnapping the child, at just a month old to raise her how he see fit and mate her when she came of age. We were all told the queen and the child were killed trying to flee and the king, he found their bodies and became so depressed at the loss of his family he no longer ruled and left his castle to a cabin in the woods for a few years before he had let his beast take over and became like a wild animal and nobody heard from him since. the rouge king still looks for him. If she is the princess, as she looked about the right age, would explain why she was that colour, the patch of black on her tail matches my son, he also had a white patch in the same place, true mates sometimes have these tells, like a mark in wolf form once mated they are supposed to change shape so the patches fit together, I’ve never seen it.

If they are mates that would mean lily couldn’t mate him and I have no idea what her father will do to me now I can’t help him because my husbands took my card as I keep bailing him out or he demands money for alcohol or to pay debts.
