Chapter Four

1114 Words
LIAM Liam and Alan parted ways immediately after they left the house. Alan got a call from the hospital about an emergency patient coming in who needed urgent surgery and that was how his schedule moved from nothing to a five-hour operation. He promised to meet with Liam in the evening where he would explain what he meant when he said they had to find him a wife. Liam went to the restaurant where he was supposed to meet with an investor to hasten things with the new company and throughout the meeting he was occupied with different things, so he kept on getting distracted. Thankfully, his secretary was able to chip in and help him to secure the meeting. When he went back to work, he still couldn't stop thinking about the conversation he had with his father that morning. His father knew how much he wanted the company. He had always dreamed of owning it since he was in high school. It was his dream and that was why he had tried so hard to excel in the business world. He was hoping that the business would be his when his dad finally retired, but the man had other plans. He wanted him to get married and have kids just so he could earn the family business. That was the most absurd thing he had ever heard in his life. It wasn't his fault that women weren't on his agenda from the start. His father should be glad that Alan wasn't his son, or else he would have died of hypertension years ago because he makes the headlines weekly, and it's either a blonde or a brunette. Liam wanted this business, but getting married to Katherine just wasn't sitting right with him. He met with her last week and, honestly, everything between them was purely Platonic, and all of a sudden he was supposed to say he wanted to marry her because he wanted the business. That was something a selfish bastard would do and he wasn't that selfish. His father had to be joking, they would talk about this after work when he got home. Somehow he had to be able to change his mind, or he was doomed. ***** "Is this your plan of getting me a wife?" Liam asked Alan as they got out of the Uber. They had cars, but Alan suggested they leave them at home and call an Uber. "I should have suspected that you were up to no good when you said we didn't need our cars tonight", Liam added, and Alan chuckled. "Relax, baby boy, and have some fun. We both had a long day, and I'm sure you had a lot to think about because of your father. The least you can do is let off some steam at a bar", Alan said. "You mean to get drunk and wake up with a hangover tomorrow? No, thank you, I am meeting with some clients tomorrow too. I don't want to be cranky", Liam said, not wanting to give in. "Would you stop thinking for once in your life and have fun? Let them publish an article about seeing you with a lady in the club tonight. Maybe your father will finally stop calling you gay", Alan stated, and Liam punched him playfully. "Whose fault is it that I keep getting called gay?" Alan laughed and then motioned for him to listen. "The moment you find a woman in there, I'm going home," Liam said, and Alan agreed. As soon as they got into the bar, Liam had a frown on his face and was already hoping to leave. They found their seats in the middle of the club, and immediately, a bartender walked up to them. "The usual", Alan was a regular customer as he didn't even allow the bartender to take their orders. "Yes, sir" The bartender smiled and walked off, intentionally swaying her hips to get their attention. Liam turned to Alan, who had a smirk on his lips, "You have f****d her too?" He asked. "I don't kiss and tell, Liam", Alan whispered, and Liam rolled his eyes. A few minutes later, the bartender came back with four shots of tequila and two bottles of beer. She placed it on the table and then opened the bottle while staring at Liam. Her boobs were out on display. "Thank you," Liam said, and she smiled before walking away. "It seems she likes you" Alan commented. "I'm not going to put my d**k in a woman who your d**k has already been on", Liam said, almost irritatingly. "I never said I f****d her" Alan replied. "Your eyes said it all, man", Liam raised his beer and the two of them clinked glasses together and then began to drink. "So..." Alan started. "What?" "Did you speak to Katherine about your marriage?" There was a smirk on his lips, it was obvious that he wanted to mock Liam. "f**k you, man," Liam said and the two of them laughed. "I don't even like her, I can't marry her because of business." "Just yesterday you would have done anything for the business. Do you want a director to take what's yours?" Alan asked "That will never happen, Alan," Liam replied, trying not to imagine it. "So what's your plan now?" "I am going to speak to my father and ask him to reconsider. What else am I supposed to do?" He asked Alan. "You and I know that your father wasn't joking, so you had better think of how to get yourself a woman to play your wife and pay her," Alan said. "Since when have you had that idea?" Liam asked him almost immediately. "Why do you think I brought you to a club?" Alan smiled. "You brought me to a club to ask a w***e to be my wife? The marriage will make the headlines when they call me crazy", Liam muttered. "I am not going to offer to help you again", Alan concluded, and kept drinking while staring at the women walking around like a hungry lion. Liam knew it wasn't long before Alan would go into the bathroom with a woman and f**k her. While allowing Alan to do his thing, Liam decided to look around the bar and that was when his eyes settled on a woman in a black dress, sitting on a stool with a glass of wine in her hand. She was staring around the bar just like him, as if she had never been to one before. Liam never thought that the color red could look so beautiful on a woman until he saw her hair.
