RAE
Gods, just a little more.
But he removed his finger before I could c*m.
And I was so frustrated a tear escaped my closed eyelids. I hadn’t even been able to get off on my own. Why couldn’t he just finish what he already started?
I opened my eyes.
Malachar was sucking me off his finger. I glimpsed the smile creeping onto his face while I just stood there, gulping air like it was my first time breathing.
Words would never be able to describe how mortified I was now.
I had let it happen again.
My fingers shakily tucked the strands of my hair that had left my bun behind my ear. How was I supposed to fix this?
I felt so slick in between my legs. The ache, the sensations he had stirred up with his fingers. I clenched my thighs and a bolt of pleasure shot through me.
Fuck, I shouldn’t have done that.
I bit my bottom lip to hold back a groan.
Any more friction would make me combust.
“What happened between us was a mistake—“
He came at me again and I backed away. “Terrible, terrible mistake, but that isn’t what I’m asking you, Rachel.”
Why was he so freaking tall? I bet I was barely visible behind all that muscle.
“Stop. I mean it!” I said quickly, holding my hands out, but he pressed on until my back hit the bar counter. “I swear Malachar if you try one more stupid act I’ll get a restraining order against you.”
I glanced over my shoulder for a way out, but I realized I was stuck with a throbbing p***y and a boy I shouldn’t want.
There was an ice cooler a few inches away and two overturned beer glasses at the far end of the wooden work surface.
“Do it. I just want to f**k you now. Like today. Not tomorrow or in a million years.”
“Were you always this crude?” I c****d my head because he certainly had manners the first time we met.
“You mean honest.”
“I think I might even have a better word. Asshole.”
His jaw turned rigid and dark fury bled through his gaze. His hands gripped the edges of the counter, caging me in.
“If that’s what you think, you’d better watch out because traits run in the family.”
“You don’t say!” I gasped dramatically and hit his chest with the back of my hand. “So my mate is an asshole, who somehow raised an even bigger asshole, who now wants to f**k me under duress? Lucky me.”
I scrunched my nose spitefully when Malachar shot me a look that made me seem crazy, which I couldn’t blame him for.
I knew there was no point trying to slip out of the cage he had me in now.
So after an awkward minute, I stuck my tongue out at him.
I could swear there were more mature ways to be handling my situation now.
But my brain had been replaced with oxytocin.
“What makes you so confident?” My mouth quirked to the side as I studied him. “I’m ten years older than you are, and even if you wanted to get back at your father or whatever your reason for chasing after me is, shouldn’t you know your place?”
His silence fanned my nerves when he began to inch closer.
“You had fewer words when I made you c*m hard on that dining table.”
The gap between us vanished.
I turned my head away, and his lips closed around the pulse point on my exposed neck.
Air ceased to exist, as if it had been crushed by an invisible force. His nose brushed over my cheek. I got drunk on his warmth. The juncture of my thighs felt molten.
I shook my head like a mute.
“Use your words.”
“I don’t want this. I’m not a cheater.”
“Just one more night.” He kissed my jaw to the bend of my neck. “File a restraining order. Never speak to me again. I’ll hate you even more than you hate me, I promise.”
Malachar gripped the back of my thighs and hoisted me onto the counter in a flash.
I fought him, but his hold on my waist was ironclad.
“It will be the last time,” he said against my lips, and the band around my hair snapped, letting it down like a curtain over my shoulders.
Right then, the door slammed open.
I dived forward and hid my face against Malachar’s chest. His hand curled into my hair, holding me tight.
“I gave strict orders that I didn’t want to be disturbed,” he growled.
“It’s urgent,” a familiar voice replied, and my memory jogged back to Richmond High’s hockey rink.
Coach Stetson had asked a player to fetch my kit from where Malachar had stashed it. I had a feeling that player owned the voice speaking now.
“Jason Kane is here.”
My heart stopped.
Everything I had done in the past few minutes rushed back to me until shame consumed my entire being.
I jumped down from the counter and pushed out of Malachar’s hold.
Now was the time for the earth to swallow me whole.
Malachar grabbed my elbow. “Wait.”
“I’m leaving,” I snapped.
He let me go.
“Goodnight,” I said to no one in particular and left the lounge with my head held high.
How else would I have walked out of a situation like that?
I just hoped Malachar’s teammate would keep his mouth shut. Teenagers could be reckless.
Gods.
Mandy would kill me if she knew the whole truth.
As I rushed over to the club’s parking lot, I pulled out my phone to call an Uber, then I paused.
I couldn’t run into Jason like this.
I was horny and flustered.
This was my first time seeing my mate in ten days. I wasn’t banking on saving my marriage with this look. I had to be more careful.
I hid behind a car when I reached the parking lot, scanning the area before moving again.
There was so much about Malachar and Jason’s relationship that I wanted to understand.
Why would a son press for one more night with his father’s wife knowing fully well how morally depraved it was?
Even if it was true that I wanted him, or that I affected him the way he did me, what had just transpired within the walls of Obsidian was a taboo.
Could it be vengeance? A score to be settled?
I sighed in relief when I made it to the bus stop on the street.
I just had to wait for Jason to come to me and forget this day ever happened.
After a while, I checked my phone and realized that my ride suddenly got cancelled due to an unforeseen circumstance on the driver’s end.
Seriously? After I had already waited here for ten minutes?
I got up from the bench, waving my hands out to flag a random taxi.
A couple of seconds later, luck found me. A taxi pulled up to the curb and I got in, texting Mandy for updates on her sister’s condition.
“To Silverrain street.”
The engine roared to life. All the doors clicked shut. Mandy replied shortly after that her sister had given birth to a baby boy.
I smiled and looked up, meeting the driver’s stare through the rearview mirror.
My phone almost slipped out of my shaking hands. My teeth clattered.
The face in the mirror was deathly pale, riddled with corded blue and black veins.
“What the… what the hell are you?”
The driver replied with a shriek from the pit of hell.
