Elena POV
Soft rays of the early light fell on the verdant rows of grapes as they moved through the vineyard. In contrast to the stress that had been growing in Elena's chest, the air smelled of new growth and dirt.
Elena had withdrawn into herself since the eerie evening when Adrian had questioned her about the doctor's visit, a silent storm building within her. She still hadn't been honest with him about what was going on and the life that was developing inside of her.
