Adrian’s POV
The vineyard was illuminated by golden light as the morning began like any other. The smell of moist soil blended with the subtle flavor of maturing grapes as workers worked through the rows of vines with silent precision. With coffee in hand, I watched the day develop on the terrace, my mind immediately racing to the duties that lay ahead.
Before Elena came out to join me with an envelope in her hand, it was just another ordinary day.
With a worried brow, she added, "This came for you."
Observing that there was no return address, I grabbed it from her. The penmanship was purposeful, neat, and strange.
She leaned on the railing and questioned, "What is it?"
