Stars
Adrian’s POV
As evening descended, the rows of vines were bathed in the golden glory of the fading sun, and the vineyard was silent. As the darkness grew deeper, the subtle murmur of crickets blended with the subtle aroma of lavender and wood. On the large table for two, I stood on the balcony, rearranging the last candle.
With a centerpiece of fresh wildflowers that Lily had chosen earlier in the day, a white linen cloth, and polished silverware, the table was understated but lovely. The scene was gently lighted by the candles' flickering glow, which created dancing shadows on the villa's stone walls.
I took a quick look at the clock and let out a leisurely breath. Elena would be here any minute.
