Chapter 41: Shadows of the Past Elena’s POV At first glance, the little leather box in Adrian's study's corner seemed inconspicuous. I was looking for a pen and happened to find it by chance; I wasn't spying. Now, however, when I held the package, I felt an odd tug. The box itself seemed to be alive, pulsing subtly with secrets. Adrian's study was a haven of order, with the dark wood polished to a mirror-like shine, the desk clear of clutter, and the books arranged with military accuracy.
