The silence in the woods seemed to be holding its breath. The only noises were the steady cadence of my breathing and the crunch of my boots on the iced leaves. Somewhere out here, Aria was, and the idea of her being in danger made my heart race.
I gripped my sword firmly in the hilt. As the moonlight pierced through the branches, shadows danced between the trees, but I continued to walk, looking around the forest for her.
