Adrian’s POV
The corridor reverberated with the sound of tiny, rushed footfall. Every other sound in the museum was muffled by the loud, irregular beats of my heart, which thundered in my chest. I was ready for discussions, disagreements, and even Elena's rage. However, I hadn't been prepared for this particular time.
Lily emerged as the door opened, holding a cherished stuffed animal in one arm. She stopped abruptly, her beautiful eyes staring at me as her hair bounced.
