There was a news van in front of the B&B when Elise arrived. Her stomach sank as she recognized a reporter for NY5 News behind the wheel of a black SUV. They couldn’t enter the B&B, but if they saw her, it might make things worse. She drove past the B&B, parked on a side street and pulled a jacket out of her trunk. She pulled on the hood, tucking her dark hair in and blessed the idea she’d had that morning to wear flats and a comfortable skirt.
