MoscowWEEK by week the movement for reform in Prague grew stronger. The press, television and radio in all countries wanted to report on the Soviet attitude to Mr Dubcek and the Prague Spring. A few Soviet diplomats became unsettled and began to question their work. The KGB reported on them and tried to stop them defecting to the West. Out of the blue, in some Western country, a Soviet diplomat or trade representative might be called home on his own ‘for consultations’, when he fell under suspicion. Some days later, when he had been trapped in Moscow, all his family would also be taken back.
