Julia sat on the sofa in Marcus’s living room, watching the children play. Zachariah was now about to turn twenty and they had a bit of a surprise party planned for his birthday. Instead of doing it at their house, the siblings picked to do it at Marcus’s, and though she felt a little awkward about it, Marcus did not seem to mind. Madison, Mason, and Sophia sat coloring a picture for Zachariah on the floor and Marcus sat in his usual spot, watching television. Though Julia and Zachariah received Trevor’s approval, April, Betty, Johnny, and Aiden still had their issues with her relationship with the youngest Thomas brother.
