Helen's POV We had been driving for a few hours without stopping when the sound of a grumbling stomach broke the silence. “Hungry?” Vincent questioned, his tone light. “Maybe, but I can wait. We still have a few more hours to go.” “It's important to feed you as well,” he said as he reached over and placed his hand over mine. “We can stop for a few moments to eat.” “I'd rather continue putting space between us and whoever may be trying to find us,” I told him, worried. I'd been hunted a few times before and knew that time was never your friend. “If you say so, but if you do get hungry and want to stop, please tell me,” he told me as he squeezed my hand once more before moving it back to the stirring wheel. “Will do,” I promised him.
