AIR – Alien and Insurgent Research – Department of Imperial Operatives investigating foreign and non-human movements within the Empire and beyond. They wear black.
Ashburton Station – The only official and most important Slideways Station in The Gramarye.
Attar Mountains – an impenetrable range of high peaks that separate the Gramarye from The Ditch. It is rumoured to be inhabited by monsters, but so few people have returned, nobody can verify these old wives’ tales. Doesn’t stop the tales being hailed as truth though.
Axelrod, Penfold G. Dr. – An advanced hyperphysicist employed by the Trade whose speciality is Green Wonder. His background is not known, but it is suggested he is an orphan.
