Chapter 11

1291 Words
I am enraged. Never before have I felt as if my entire body is going to go up in flames in fury. I can not believe that they think that they can do this to us or anyone else for that matter, and get away with it. The more minds I read, the more I realize this entire place is corrupt down to the marrow, like cancer. And everyone knows, the only way to truly get rid of the cancer, is to cut off the limb. So that’s exactly what we will do. I take a step at one of the men holding very big guns at me and hear a shout that makes me pause. “STOP! Please! I beg of you do not engage!” Out of the corner of my eye, because I am not taking my eyes off the people in front of me, I see a man in military garb running towards us all from the elevator. “Disengage! Stand Down now! That’s an order!” The man hollers at the people with guns. Then he does a really stupid thing that literally snaps me out of my fury and sends me straight to incredulous, he steps in front of me in an attempt to shield me. Seriously? “By my order I command you to stand down and leave!” He snaps at them yet again because none of them have moved. Then, one man points his weapon to the floor, and takes a step forward. “Sir, we saw these things kill everyone in their rooms! They need to be contained until they can be controlled.” He says with as much authority as fear. I can see his frame shaking slightly, his eyes darting from me to the man, who apparently is in charge, nervously. Heh, me, War and Bastille, my creature who is a basilisk come to find out, find this whole exchange slightly amusing. Slightly, mostly irritating. “Like hemorrhoids.” War says with a chuckle, I soon find myself smirking and letting out a huff of amusement. Everyone’s eyes dart to me like I just started cackling like a witch. Hand on guns tightened, and everyone got tenser, if that was possible. “Care to share what you find so amusing about the death of our people?” The man snaps at me, I look at him, and see that his last name is Hill. He looks nervous but also angry. We can work with either. Out of the corner of my eye I can see my siblings take a few steps closer, not giving off ‘I am going to attack’ vibes by placing their hands in the air. Like that’ll help. Insert internal eye roll here please. Call me a cynic if you want, I don’t give a s**t. I know how the world actually is. “Wow, rude much. We have our hands up so they think we don’t mean harm so we can get closer you asshole.” Voids mad at me. Opps, probably should have asked first instead of making assumptions about my brother and sisters. “Sorry guys, habit to be this way.” I tell them, the grumpy looks on their facing leaves and an amused one takes its place. “To answer your question, none of your business what I find amusing, Hill.” I state, his face pales. “How the f**k do you know my name you goddamned freak?!” Hill shouts at me. I give him a look of dumbfounded-ness and incredulity. “It’s on your shirt you f*****g imbecile.” He looks down at his shirt in shock. “If this is the type of people you take into the military, I fear for the future generations.” I say with bafflement. Hill head snaps up and gives me a glare, I simply raise my eyebrow at him, silently daring him to give me his best shot. He wisely stays silent. “I apologize greatly for this…this…” The man in front of me turns to face me, hands together like he’s praying to me or some s**t. “Bullshit. I believe the word you were looking for is bullshit.” Void says blatantly. “I don’t know where y’all get off treating anyone like this, especially people who in fact, have done nothing wrong. We have defended ourselves against people who are here to hurt us, use us, or like you said, control us. As soon as we find our eldest sister Hemy, we are all leaving, and we will go through ANYONE who gets in our way. Is that is anyway unclear to any of you?” Void looks at everyone present. And that’s when I hear it, the thoughts of the man in front of me. What I hear send both chills down my spine and rage coursing through my body at the same time. “Their sister may be down the hall from here but we can’t let them take her, none of them can leave. It will ruin everything. We’ve already started the process of trying to breed her, if she leaves the drugs we gave her to ovulate will go to waste. She could end up breeding with inferior genetics and then where will we be? No where. Over 50 years of research, experiments, and all of it, down the shitter for nothing. They can’t find out about the others either, it’ll only get worse if they find out they aren’t the only supernatural’s here. Wait, why is she staring at me like tha-“ He doesn’t get to finish, the rage that was boiling in me erupts. Before I know what’s happening, I have claws that look like scales and they are slicing through his neck. I don’t even know his name, nor do I care to learn it. He drops to the ground and starts to gurgle. Pandemonium breaks out, shouting from everyone but my sisters and brother, they heard what I heard, and like me- are so beyond enraged there is a literal wave of power and menace coming from us. The shouting stops as everyone is transfixed by the dark green smoke that is coming from my brother Void. He is so enraged like the rest of us he is shaking so hard it’s like he’s vibrating. I think, despite me knowing her for longer, he has the closest relationship with our eldest sister. She was the one to find us, and bring us together. We are only a family because of her. Hemy and Void go on walks all the time and either talk, or stay silent. That’s their thing, or they sit at home and he watches TV while she reads or writes. Just in silence. They don’t require words to make each other feel better. None of us really do, but with Hemy, she just gets it. Gets us, she knows when we need space, and when we need a kick in the pants. Always has, almost on an eerie level too. The smoke crept closer to the group of men and women with the big guns, a look of horror on each and every face. All of them were frozen in terror, not like running would have saved them. Quick as lightning, the smoke strikes out at them. They all start screaming in pain, fear, and desperation. Is it wrong that I was smiling? I don’t care. They didn’t care about us, only what we could do for them. Time to show them, we are not ones to pick a fight with. They may not know what we are, but I do. We are the Horsemen. And their End of Days, has just begun.
