Chapter 7

Artemis POV 2 days after crash 11:30 in the morning I woke up when someone came into my room. I know I had been going in and out of consiousness for at least a few hours but didn't know for certain. "You have been unconcious for 2 days and in and out for nearly 12 hours. You are the first to wake up out of your siblings. And mine. I can not reach them through telepathy like we usually can. They must be out still." A deep manly voice in my head sounds. What. The. f**k. Is Going. On?! Have I actually lost my damn mind? "No. And it's rude to assume that you are clinically insane just because you hear voices. Oh, wait, nevermind. That is what humans do isn't it?" Whatever, I needed to focus on the woman that just walked in the door, not even looking up from her binder and clipboard. Looked like medical charts, the only difference? They didn't have a hospital logo on the backs of them, they had the Army logo. Well, f**k. This is gonna get messy. I sat up quietly and pulled my legs towards the side of the bed that didn't have the railing, which just so happens to face the door. She looks average, medium brown hair pulled into a bun at the nape of her neck, pale skin, no visible tattoos or markings poke out of her scrubs, simple gold studs in her ears, average height of about 5'7" tall. I couldn't see her eyes but that'll change when she looks up, if she pays attention enough. Without even looking up, she walks back out the door and stands looking at the paperwork, I use this time to unhook myself from the machines and am glad they don't make noise when I do. I stand up from the bed and softly walk to right behind the door of the room, if she turned to her left, she would see me in between the crack of the door and door frame. She doesn't turn. She doesn't even look up as she shouts to the nurses, "Hey, lets go ahead and grab some eggs from them to fertalize at a later date in case they prove to be more trouble to keep alive. You never know with these specimens, it could go either way." She then turns back into my room and walks towards the now empty bed. She doesn't even bother to look up still. My Goddess, the audacity and gall of this woman. "Can I kill her? I would very much like to hear her scream!" the voice inside my head says. Hhhmmm. "We shall see, by the way. What's your name?" I ask, noting I still don't know it. "War, one of the Horsemen, your Horseman. Congradulations, you're now immortal, along with your siblings." War, apparently his name, states calmly. As he and I have this conversation, I start shutting the door, only when it closes all the way does the lady look up. "What the hell?! When did you wake up?!" She starts to look panicked, her eyes darting around and land on a red button on the wall. "Go anywhere near that button and you won't live long enough to touch it." I state in a no none-sense tone of voice. "Now, as for when I woke up? When you walked in actually. Thanks for the wake up call. I heard everything by the way." Voices started to filter in my head, What was going on now? "We have to ability of telepathy; as do my brothers, we gave it to all of you as well, let me in and I can tune it out for you, a filter if you will." War says. "Just picture a door to your mind, and open it up for me. It'll be easier and less painfull if I have to force my way in." Well ok then. I did as he asked and as soon as the door opened, I could literally see him walk through it. All 7'5" of him. Dark black hair, it looks like it has a green sheen to it, just past his shoulders, geen eyes, handsome face with a square jaw and full lips. Thick thighs and a dump truck for an ass, holy s**t I could take a bite outta that thing and it wouldn't make dent in it. What came with him was a creature I had never seen before. It looked like a giant snake, it was gigantic, well over 50 feet long and had shimmery black scales that shined with a green and gold hue in the light. I loved snakes, I missed my Noodle snake girl. But as soon as the door shut, all the other voices stopped. Wow, cool. I looked back at the lady, slowly trying to inch her way to the little red button on the wall. Can't have that now can we. One second I was thinking of intercepting her and the next, I already have. "You all have our abilities, telepathy, speed, strength, healing, hearing, know all the languages of the world, etc. Your body reacted to what you wanted to do faster than your mind could process it. We will work on that later." War clears up that mass confusion nicely. Just kidding, still very confused. The lady, who is either a lead nurse or a doctor without a white coat, lunges for the button and lands on my open palm. Opps. My, bad. Just kidding, I wanted to slap her; so I did. She falls to the ground with a thud and stares at me in wide eyed fear, holding her left cheek with her hand. Good, she should fear us. "I need in her head, can we force a connection?" I ask my new friend. "But of course, all you have to do is push the power into her brain without killing her, so don't use much. Want me to do it this time so you don't kill her?" he asks. That's fair, I have no idea what I'm doing yet, and I need her alive. For now anyway. I need information, she has it, she will give it to me whether she likes it or not. "Go for it, teach me as you do it though, so I can learn quickly." I need this to work so that me and my sisters and brother can get out of here before anything worse happens. The lady starts to shake, as in her whole body. Her eyes widen and she opens her mouth, to most likely scream, when her eyes glaze over and she closes her mouth and slumps to the ground. What the hell? "I thought you said you could do this without killing her?! What the f**k is this?" I exclaim to War. "She's not dead, just stuck in her own mind while I rifle through it so she can't call for help. Duh, as the kids these days say." I can't tell whether to laugh at his outdated phrase or think it's cute. "I can still hear you. And it should be cute, because I am." I could literally feel him pouting in my head. Weird, not a bad weird, just a new experience kind of weird. "She's part of the US Army, doctor for 3 years, 36 years of age, no kids, no husband but she is f*****g around with a Commander here at the base. Oh, here it is. We are at a secret military base, looks like a normal base, with everything you would need, except it was decommissioned back in the 1970's. It was 'reopened' to be a 'military medical center' for 'special cases', aka supernatural and paranormal patients they keep hostage as lab rats. Great, I hope this doesn't become another WW2 thing. That was bullshit the first time around." War almost sounds like he's whining. Wait a second, WW2? That was about Hitler and the h*******t, not supernaturals, right?
