The doctors eyes widened and he took a step back, closer to the wall next to my bed. And also closer to my siblings un-be-knowingst to him. Heh, guess I still could pull off what my sister Emmeranne called, 'the psycho-killer smile'. "Whoops, looks like it's time for us to be getting home now. We all have animals and families to get back to." I say keeping my smile in place. Apparently that made it worse because he paled even further and started to walk around the corner and even closer to Void. Big mistake. Not only does he still remember his training, but by that glint in his eyes says he has a few new tricks up his sleeve that I don't know about yet.
Yup, as the doctor stepped closer to my brother, Void got an almost feral look in his eyes. s**t. That's not good. "Watch out for Void, somethings happening. He has a look in his eyes." I say through the link my sister connected to us all. We will have to play with this later to see how far we can reach with this new 'channel' of communication.
"Oh, don't worry about it. He'll kill the doctor quickly and then we can get the f**k out of here." Artemis states. Just as she links that, Void touches the doctor with a single finger to his neck. As the doctor gasps, black veins spread throughout what I can only assume is his whole body. They spread fast across his face that turns a gray color as his blue eyes look at me in a wide panic while they start bleeding. In fact, he starts bleeding out of his nose, mouth and ears too. Gross. I know I'm making a face because Void cracks a smile and chuckles at my expense looking at me.
"Gross dude. What did you do to him?" I ask while also cringing away from his body that had dropped to the floor when he died. Void looks at me, and I look at him. He still has his dark skin tone but his hair is no longer black and his eyes are no longer brown. His eyes a such a bright hazel color, they almost glow. And his hair, oh my Goddess. It's almost a seafoam green color at the ends but gets darker at the roots until its a dark moss green at the scalp. "What? Don't give me that look. I just woke up and am trying to adjust to your new look. Nice hair by the way. It really brings out the bags under your eyes." I say jokingly. Noticing that they all look different, and tired. They all have bags under their eyes. Eyes that are all different colors. Artemis has bright as f**k emerald green eyes and black hair that looks like it has a green shine to it, in the light. Emmeranne has such ice blue eyes they look like they have sparkling diamonds in them. Her hair is a gorgeous golden blond with waves, and is a lot thicker than it used to be. And Zephira, whew, her eyes are a golden color. Literally. They look like a lions eye with the color. Wow, her hair is red and gold. Like a live fire in her hair. I pick at some of my hair over my shoulder, yep. White as snow and, huh. When did I get a manicure? I look to my nails and notice that while they are still short, probably no more that a quarter inch past my fingertips, they still end in a very sharp looking point. And they are black.
That's when I notice my new tattoos. What the f**k. Who tattooed me?!?! I raise my arms and spread them in front of me looking at the tattoos on my skin. Now that I'm paying better attention, they are the tattoos that I have always wanted but could never afford to get. The henna looking one on my left arm, from shoulder to finger tip. The Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland on my right arm. Wow, that's kinda trippy and cool looking. They are mixed together and blend beautifully. I look down my chest and see the piece I wanted there. A grim reapers hooded head holding a scythe to my throat with the incription, ' Moartea m-a luat și iadul m-a aruncat înapoi afară'. In Romanian it means, 'Death has taken me, and Hell threw me back out'. Appropriate considering the circumstances. I look at my ribs and see the dragon on my left rib cage with the tail starting on my left foot and curling up and around my leg until the body, head and legs rests on my left ribs. My right side has a witchy/Native American themed dream-catcher made of bones and feathers and beads in the shapes of animals and runic symbols hanging from braided rope with water colors splashed behind the black and white piece. Awesome. My right thigh caused me to get a little teary eyed. It was the memorial piece that I always wanted. It has my grandmother in black and white sitting on the hood of a Cadilac in the 50's when she was a teen, several paw prints with names and dates above and below them with all of the pets I've lost, along with some horseshoes and their dates from the horses I've lost. I also see my cousin and my uncle, great uncle, and some flowers thrown in there. They look like sunflowers, cala lilies, and azaleas. Azaleas were my grandmothers favorite flowers, she had a lot of the bushes in her front and back yards when I was growing up. I loved it. Most of the images were in black and white with the flowers being in soft muted colors. I was obsessed.
"Hello! Can we go now or are you still ogling yourself?" snaps Zephira. Her hands are on her hips and she is trying to glare at me. I say trying to because she is also trying to fight the smile off her face and it's not working. So I do the mature thing and stick my tongue out at her. She smiles and starts to giggle. The rest of them do too, even my brother.
"Ok, lets blow this popsicle stand y'all." Being raised in the south gave me an accent that I can forgo if I wanted to and new words the rest of the country were left scratching their heads trying to figure out what they meant. And the phrases too. Oh boy those phrases. I stand up and when my feet hit the ground I hear the tell-tell sounds of several boots running down the hall. Huh, looks like I have enhanced hearing along with my new looks. Wonder what else I can do. Those footsteps get closer, they are coming for us. I look up and see the camera in the corner. s**t. They probably saw Void use his new gift. Out of time and no clothing on me other than the cloth hospital gown they put me in, my siblings are in sweat pants and shirts. Oh well. If they see my bits, not my fault. We'll just have to gouge their eyes out now won't we. I smile again and head towards the door. I've always been good at keeping my bloodthirsty side in check, I don't look good in orange, but now, I'm going to set it loose on these fools. Let the fun times start.
