Thirty-OneWhen Pania spotted Isabella’s tight expression as she stood at the entry to Huldah’s drawing room, she wondered for a moment if the girl might actually refuse to see her. The cook had answered the door and led her into the hall, but Isabella was plainly not in any mood to receive visitors.
