Chapter 50: Dangerous Confrontation
(William's POV)
The photo on the screen froze me in place. Black moon roses. They were in full bloom, spread elegantly across the ceremonial grounds during Aurora and Marcus’s bonding ceremony.
I knew those flowers. Everyone who knew Aurora closely did. They were her favorite. Delicate, rare. Not something one could easily cultivate, let alone in such abundance.
Marcus had surrounded her with them.
That wasn’t something that could be arranged in days or even weeks. The planting, the care—it took months. Years even, to prepare an event like that.
My fingers stumbled to zoom in on the photo. Aurora and Marcus stood side by side. Her silver hair caught the moonlight perfectly, while Marcus’s golden eyes were focused solely on her.
