Sluggishly, Topaz dragged her bag along with her as she made way into the elevator heading for her apartment she lived into a ten-story apartment, she lived on the seventh floor. Her home wasn't that chic and ultramodern. It was a simple and yet comfy home. Besides she didn't have a lot of money to spend on lavish apartments located on the ninth and tenth floors. Before leaving Saffron, the royal nanny, Blair had cautioned her on how to live amongst other non-royal's and how to manage money but Blair hadn't foreseen her having a shopaholic best friend who dragged both of them to the mall every weekend. Groaning, Chelsea was one of the reasons she was damn broke right now. Over the past years, different clothes had been sent to an orphanage to make room for more latest clothes. Topaz occasionally tried to reason with her best friend but Chelsea blew her off times without numbers. "Chill Topaz, it's NewYork's fashion week this weekend and I, am determined to look fabulous," she always said. Topaz snapped out of her reverie when the elevator arrived on her floor. With a sigh, she dragged her handbag over her shoulder and was already walking out of the elevator when her head jammed into a chest. It was a guy's chest no doubt. Topaz felt her legs turn to jelly and he held her by the shoulders to steady her. He was muscular and his hands were very gentle on her. Suddenly she nestled deeper into the chest feeling like resting there forever. Quickly she moved away, realizing that she was leaning more into a stranger's chest. "Sorry," she mumbled, looking down at the carpeted floor ashamed of her actions. The guy let out a rich chuckle when Topaz raced out of the elevator to the lobby. She didn't stop running till her door slammed behind her. Steadying her breathing, she leaned on the door, half expecting someone to knock. The stranger in particular. Ten minutes later, no one came she was half disappointed as she facepalmed herself. Stupid, stupid she didn't even get a chance to thank the guy properly, she lamented to herself. She had been embarrassed to be cuddling up with a guy she didn't know inside an elevator. She wasn't going to mention this to anybody, Topaz swore, not even to Chelsea. As if her body remembered it's exhaustion, she yawned. God, she was tired too much to her dismay there were two pop quizzes. What she said to coax Chels away turned true after all. She dumped her bag on the silk black leather couch. Blair had cautioned her how to live but that didn't mean she couldn't live in style. Her apartment was quite large and sleek with a few of the finest furnitures. She headed to the kitchen, opened the fridge and took out a bottle of water, bringing it to her lips she downed the whole bottle in one goal before heading for the bathroom. Thirty-five minutes later, she emerged from the bathroom feeling so much better. Her sore muscles had relaxed in the lavender bubble bath she used. Throwing on an oversized hoodie and shorts, she debated on what to eat for dinner. As she walked out of the bedroom she thought about ordering from the hotel but the flash of numbers and her budget appeared all at once in her brain that she settled for sandwich and mineral water. As soon as she got closer to the living room, she sniffed the aroma of food been cooked in her kitchen. Who the ever f**k was this? You couldn't just enter someone's kitchen. She remembered that the door wasn't bolted. Agitated, she stalked towards the kitchen to give this person peace of her mind about entering people's house when she stopped short when seeing a masculine figure stirring something on the stove with his back to her. Her breathing hiked up. What it the guy on the elevator? Even if it was she still had to talk to him. Topaz moved forward and he turned as if knowing she was there immediately the smile vanished from her face and suddenly the understood what Alex said at the end of his letter that he was been tailed. "You...what are you doing here? Why are you here?" His next words had my breathing slowed and suddenly my freedom disappeared within the blink of an eye. "Why else princess? Am here to take you back to where you belong." He said smugly.
