Jax’s POV
“You’ve probably had the most exciting and intense days here, Alpha…” Garrick, my cousin and current Beta, said when he saw me enter my bedroom. He lay sprawled in the middle of my bed, back against the headboard, remote in hand as he flipped through television channels.
I sighed.
I wasn’t wrong, was I?
Days earlier, I had somehow heard his voice in my mind asking where I was and if he could see me. And now here he was.
“Your bed smells like a hot woman, Alpha. How many have you brought here?”
“Get the hell out of my bed, Garrick,” I said in a low, thunderous voice. I had just returned from dinner with Elena and wanted to sleep, but I knew there would be no rest with him here.
Garrick raised his hands in surrender and jumped off the bed.
