“f**k, why does it have to be today?” I muttered, hiding behind a dirty truck. I rested my head on my knees, arms wrapped around my legs, eyes squeezed shut.
I glanced at the sky, wishing the full moon would disappear, but it remained bright and full.
Fuck it. Why did the full moon have to fall on tonight of all nights when I was trying so hard to make things right with Elena?
my body trembled. The painful shift intensified. I didn’t want Fenrir to emerge, which only made the agony worse.
‘Jax, are you insane? Don’t fight me!’ Fenrir urged inside me, but I still resisted. I had to meet Elena or she would be angry with me again.
“Fenrir… can we do this on another full moon? I can’t right now!” I complained, hugging myself tighter as the truck moved.
