Jax’s POV
I stared at Catherine after we reached the garden. “What are you doing here? How dare you show your face after everything?” I asked. She remained silent.
Catherine looked at a loss for words, but I wasn’t here to waste time. Elena was waiting in our room. She might need something. I needed to finish this quickly. “Did you come just to stand there?” I asked, losing patience.
Catherine fidgeted with her fingers. In a soft voice, she answered, “I want to talk to you.”
“About what?” “About us.”
I crossed my arms. “Are you crazy? If you came here to spout nonsense, you can leave.” I was about to turn away, but Catherine quickly stopped me. I removed her hand as if disgusted.
She looked hurt, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
