“But l heard your new job pays well! That’s how you covered the bills without taking a loan, right?”
I pulled the phone away from my ear and let out a heavy, irritated breath.
I can’t believe she’s still acting like this! It’s so frustrating!
“Or maybe you’re just being selfish? Don’t forget everything l did for you and your mother when you were studying and struggling, Elena!” Aunt Caroline continued. “Now that you can help me, you refuse? What kind of ungrateful niece are you?!”
Tears rolled down my cheeks as l clenched my fists. l couldn’t believe she still had the nerve to say these things after all the help l had given her and my relatives since l started working!
Don’t let emotions control you, Elena. They need support and you should show grace. But for how long?
