CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE Tell me, where did the past week go? Here it is Saturday morning at the McLain household and our sons Larry and Jerry are seated at the kitchen table with their Dad, while Blondie works her culinary magic making waffles, frying bacon and eggs while keeping our plates full of good hot food. I offer to help, but have been instructed to sit down and enjoy. The kids and I have laid waste to everything in sight. Little Jerry is the first to finish and he launches the attack with the question I’ve been dreading. "Dad, you promised that you'd take us to the park today, right?"
