CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR The new year takes off with a bang. The kids stay with Grandma, and Blondie and I enjoy five fabulous days near Flagstaff. Some friends loan us the use of their cabin and it’s like a trip to another world. The mountain peaks seem to touch the sky and three of the five days we have a beautiful snowfall. Here we’re in this cozy pine-paneled cabin with lots of wood cut for the fireplace, no phones, no radios, just the two of us and the beauty of the woods. I think all couples should find a week each year when they get away from family, from job pressures, from the cares of the world.
