Test

Gale have never seen something more shocking than this. In front of him, there's a dragon skeleton with the height of 10,000 metres. It's no wonder the cave is so big yet there's no beast live in it. He has heard the biggest dragon in this world can only reach the height of 1000 metres. Which only the dragon ancestors can reach.

With such big dragon, the pressure must not be small. The reason why he couldn't feel it because there's not any magic in his body. But how come this dragon can grow ten times bigger than the books says?

Seeing how big the skeleton is, Gale intends to leave but thinking how much trouble he go through along the way, he gritted his teeth and walk to the dragon skeleton. When he was only ten feet away from the skeleton, the holes in its eyes lits up.

"Hmm.. I can sense a human presence here." Suddenly there's a hoarse voice coming from the skeleton. Gale almost jump in fright when hearing it.

"Don't be afraid. I'm just a remnant soul that I leaved here to find a successor before I died."

"Mighty Dragon, are you saying I will inherit your inheritance?" asked Gale.

"Yes. Although there's no magic in you which surprised me a little, but it's also because of that you managed to resist my dragon pressure. Otherwise, even if that person is Magic Saint, their magic root would still be crush to death."

"But how am I going to get your inheritance if I didn't even have the slightest bit of magic?"

"It's simple. My dragon core can help your magic root recover. It's also contains the inheritance of my dragon race."

"There must be a test, right?" asked Gale again. He truly wouldn't believe there's a free meal in this world. Moreover it was such luxurious meal.

"You're quick to catch. Yes. I will give you several test. Here it comes." After saying that, there's some kind of power enter Gale's head which caught him off guard. Making him feel truly dizzy.

He feels like his head being spinned around the world while at the same time it is on the verge of explode. He wants to faint so much but he still grits his teeth and persistent. He knows if he was to faint, he couldn't pass the test and get the inheritance.

Fifteen minutes after that, Gale still didn't faint or collapse.

'If he could use magic, I would have use my dragon pressure. Because the endurance of physical body is not as pain as the endurance of the soul. Surprisingly, he could still endure it until this long. Not to mention he still young,' the soul dragon murmured.

"Okay, that's enough." The dizziness and pain in Gale's head slowly dissipate.

"You have passed the second test. Now, you must pass the next one."

"Second? What about the first?" Gale asked in confusion.

"I'll tell you after you pass the test."

There's a fog enveloping Gale. When he wake up, he find himself in a room he missed so much. He walk through the door and find someone he truly missed. As soon as he saw them, his tears couldn't help but burst.

"Gale? Why are you crying?"

"You're my son. You cannot cry like a baby."

But it still didn't stop him from crying. His mom and dad who are cutting the flowers smile at him. He ran to both of them and hug them tightly. He hope this moment could last forever.

"Mom. Dad. Why are you leaving me?" he ask softly.

"We didn't meant to do that, Gale. We are sorry but don't worry because now we can live together," his mom answer while stroking his head.

"Really?"

"Yes. Your mom and I wouldn't be lying."

While they are hugging, Gale felt a sharp thing pierce through his back, making him vomit blood. But he didn't seem to be surprised as if he already expected this. He still hug them tightly and not letting them go. A moment later, he already back in the cave.

"You already knew their intention but still fall for it. What are your reason?" ask the dragon skeleton.

"First, I know it's illusion so I will not die no matter what. Second, even if it's mean to fail the test and not be able to use magic forever, I would still let them stab me just to hug them again. Even if you give me a second chance, I would still do the same."

The dragon fell silent for a moment before saying.

"Good. You still care about your love ones even in front of opportunity. I've given this test to many people. Some of them just kill their closest person without any hesitation or with some guilty. Some of them didn't harm their closest person but still resist when being attacked. But this is my first time seeing a person who let himself being stab just to hug his parents."

"Congratulations, young man. You have passed my test."

"I have passed? Then what about the first test? You didn't tell me about it."

"The first test is to test your courage. You have no magic. Even after you saw my magnificent skeleton you still didn't run away. There are many people who has come here. As soon as they saw my skeleton or heard my voice, they instantly ran away or begged for mercy. You're the only one who tried to remain calm."

"I understand now. Thanks for your guidance." Gale say politely.

"It's nothing. I have not much time left. So you can quickly get my dragon core. To infuse my dragon core with your body is impossible so you have to take my soul too but the process is extremely painful. It's not like the pain you suffer in the second test earlier. Are you ready?"

"To get the opportunity, you also must be prepared to lose it. I already reached this far. What's the point of turning back right now?" With that said, Gale go to the place where the heart of the dragon used to be.

The dragon core is thrice the size of him. As expected of the dragon core of the 10, 000 metres dragon. It truly magnificent.

The dragon soul which didn't show himself from the start appear in front of Gale. Only now did he see how the dragon looks like since the dragon skeleton didn't leave any trace of what it looks when it still alive. The dragon soul in front of him just magnificent like the skeleton but looks like real dragon.

It scales, horns and claws. All of them is fiery red mixed with gold colour. It eyes look like a majestic sun, instantly lights up the cave. Even Gale is blind for a moment. After that, the dragon soul start to chant something in the dragon language. As he finished, he went straight inside Gale's body without saying anything.
