Taree Belardes In a time before time, in the village of Nor, there lived a man named Epoch and his wife, Era. Epoch was a common man, a tinkerer by nature, farmer by trade. After chores, he could always be found fiddling away at anything worth fiddling with, while Era tended their infant son, Thyme. Thyme was a jolly little soul who Epoch, like many young fathers, delighted in flinging up into the air only to catch him in his arms again. This elicited squeals of excitement from Thyme, along with perpetual chiding from Era who winced at each and every toss. The height at which a baby could safely be flung was a constant source of debate between the two, which, it seemed, might never be resolved, at least within the village of Nor, where opinions differed substantially.
