  Lyra   I took a deep breath as I settled on the table in Kieran’s office, accepting the warm glass of water he handed me.   “Thanks,” I murmured before taking a sip.   “Are you okay?” Kieran asked quietly, guilt flashed in his eyes. “I’m sorry for my brother—”   I lifted my hand, stopping him before he could continue.   “Don’t,” I said firmly. “It’s not your fault he’s a jerk. And honestly, I lost my cool too. I let my anger take over—and that escalated everything back there.
