My heart felt like it was breaking.  I am such a strong, powerful Alpha, I show very little emotion, but watching my beautiful mate begin to break over her past was one of the saddest things I have seen.  I gently picked her up and placed her on my lap, just that movement sent my hormones into overdrive.  I tried to keep myself in check but she is the sexiest woman I have ever seen in my life.  I placed her head on my chest so that she could hear my heart beating, allowing it to sooth her.  I didn’t want to move, having my gorgeous mate in my arms was the most intoxicating feeling I had ever experienced.  I kept her there till she fell asleep, nothing was going to take her away from me.  I gently picked her up and placed her in her bed.  I took off my shirt and climbed into the bed next to her, pulling her back towards my chest.  How long I had waited for this moment.  I fell asleep listening to the sound of her breathing.  

The sun peaking through the curtains woke me up, it had been the best night's sleep of my life.  I tried to stretch but then remembered where I was, gentle breathing pulling me from my thoughts.  I looked down at my gorgeous mate, I gently grazed my fingers down her chin, she began to stir and open her eyes.  Shock, her eyes froze as they landed on mine.  

“Whhhat...howw…!” She spluttered out.  

“Ssshhh, don’t worry my angel.” I tried to say as gently as possible.  She tried to pull away from me but I pulled her so that she was underneath me.  

“Now, where do you think you are going?” I huskily whispered into her ear.  You could see the shivers running down her body.  

“Wwwhy, aaaree we in bed together?  Her eyes, searching mine for answers.  

“I’m sorry, I just couldn’t sleep separately from you, once you fell asleep on me I put you in your bed and climbed in next to you. Forgive me?” I smiled the most charming smile I could.  I could see her lips begin to twitch. 

“Maybe,” she responded quietly.  

“Will you spend the day with me, Jacob and Josh, Jacob and I have something special planned.” My heart was beating rapidly, I locked my eyes with hers, unable to remove them.  Thane was incredibly happy having our mate under us.  She looked at me with those sparkling green orbs, the most beautiful smile forming on her face.  

“Yes, I would love that..but”.  My heart sank, but? I looked at her questioningly.  “You aren’t going to stop me from teaching Chris are you?  I meant to start tomorrow and I really want to work with him.”  Her voice was quiet but melodious, she was perfect in every way.  I couldn’t stop the smile forming on my face.  I desperately wanted to kiss her but I knew it was not the time.  I needed to take things slow.  

“I would never do that to you or to Chris.  Of course you can continue to work with him.  As he improves and he is able to go to regular school I will start to ask you to help me with some Luna duties, but until then, your priority is Chris.”

I was rewarded with the most beautiful smile, “Thank you, but...what is a Luna?”  

I lay on my side facing her, being on top of her was too much for my wolf.  She turned on her side to face me.  

“I am the Alpha of this pack, which means that I am the leader.  Peter is my Beta, which means the second in command.  Jacob has never wanted a position, he loves to grow plants, work in the restaurant, that is his thing and I respect that.  The mate of the Alpha is called the Luna, she is his everything, his equal, in fact even above him.  The entire pack knows that the Luna is the most important person.  With a Luna an Alpha becomes stronger, more powerful, more in control of emotions.  She supports him, helps him control the beast within.  Without a Luna, an Alpha can get to the point where they can’t rule anymore as they can’t control their anger.  It is sad, but it does happen.”  She listened intently to each and every word that I said.  I loved the fact that she was giving me all her attention. She nodded and responded, “So what role do I play eventually, besides just being there for you, I am not planning on being a house-mate you know!” She was quite firm in her answer, I didn’t realise she had a feisty side, but I had to admit that I liked it.  

“I would never ask you to be that, there is so much for you to do, but for now I want you to focus on Chris, and spend some time with me, getting to know me, hopefully giving us a chance…...will you give us a chance?” The last part of the sentence stuck in my throat, what if she rejected me?  I could see her processing everything, time seemed to stand still.  

“Yes, I want to try this with you, I have never felt these emotions before and I want to see where they lead….but..” But what, what could there be but about “I have told you, I have never been with any man physically, not even a kiss, or holding hands, I am scared of what your expectations will be.”

I felt myself calm down, she was so innocent and beautiful, I loved that about her.  What? Love? What is happening to me.  I looked at her, grazing my thumb over her cheek.  

“I have found you, for me that is enough for now.  Our physical relationship will develop at the pace you want.  Just knowing I have found you……” I couldn’t finish the sentence, the emotions were too strong.  

“What,” she whispered.  

“I have waited so long, I didn’t realise how lonely I was, now that I have you, there are so many emotions.”

She smiled at me, “You are so lovely, I am glad I have met you too, now if you don’t mind I think I need to shower and get ready for my surprise day.”  There was a cute smile on her face, suddenly she leaned in and gave me a quick peck on the cheek.  I am not sure if she meant to because she looked as shocked as me and scrambled off the bed towards her shower.  I let out the loudest laugh, got up and walked towards my room to get ready.
