Chapter 2: The Deal
Zain took a seat across from her, his eyes never leaving hers. There was no rush in his movements, just the calm confidence of a man who knew exactly what he was capable of. Tarfiya could feel the weight of his presence, like a heavy cloud that threatened to suffocate everything around him.
She leaned forward slightly, her hands resting on the table. “You know, Zain, people say you’re impossible to negotiate with. They say you take everything for yourself, leaving nothing behind.”
Zain’s lips curved into a faint smile. “That’s true for most things. But not everything, Tarfiya. Some things are worth sharing.”

Zain’s smile disappeared, replaced by something colder. “Then, you’ll lose everything you’ve worked for. Because without me, there are people who will make sure you never get ahead. Not without paying the price.”
Tarfiya felt a chill run down her spine. She had always been able to handle her business on her own. But Zain’s words felt like a warning, and she didn’t ignore warnings. Not in this world.
“Give me time to think,” she said, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside.
Zain stood up, the air around him shifting with his every movement. “You have 48 hours. Make your choice, Tarfiya. But know this: Once you decide, there’s no going back.
