Though she was nervous, she accepted him into her life. As the days turned into weeks, he often made time for her and her sister without anyone else tagging along. Happy with the turn of events, she found herself helping him more in the kitchen when he was home. when days got too hectic, he was there for her to lean on and ask for help from cleaning to dealing with the kids that the mob dubbed the Danger Duo. A giggle snapped him out of his thoughts, and he turned to the doorway with a glare. Kennedy stood there with a grinning Phoenix by her side. Seeing that the girl already changed out of her uniform, he shook his head. “Our ride is late because he’s daydreaming again, Kenni,” Nix said with a pout.
