"I'm sorry, sir," Peter cried burst into tears and begged, "I'm so sorry, please forgive me."
Peter was well aware of the background and status of Redbud Card holders. With just a word from them, he could be fired on the spot.
Ethan rushed to withdraw money for his mother's treatment, so he simply snorted and handed over the bank card. "I wanna withdraw money."
Peter took the bank card nervously, "Sir, how much money do you wanna withdraw?"
"500 thousand dollars!"
"500 thousand dollars?"
Ethan frowned at Peter, saying, "Can't you withdraw it?"
He forced a smile and said, "Sir, each Redbud Card has at least a billion dollars." Peter wiped the sweat from his forehead, guessing this big shot must vent his dissatisfaction for simply withdrawing 500 thousand dollars with a billion in the card.
Ethan stunned and thought, 'The bank card has a billion dollars! I am so rich with just a greeting gift from my father!'
After calming down, Ethan replied calmly, "Just 500 thousand dollars."
Peter's heart jumped and processed the paperwork anxiously.
Ethan casually found a black trash bag in the office, put the 500 thousand in it, and then turned to left.
Peter in grim look wanted to plead several times yet forcibly held back while seeing Ethan leaving quickly. He finally collapsed into the chair, drenched in sweat.
In the bank lobby, Bonnie watched Ethan hurry away behind the counter, her eyes red with emotion.
She realized she had made a colossal mistake, but Ethan had left too swiftly for her to apologize.
Sighing in resignation, she turned and entered Peter's office. "Mr. Valdez, what exactly happened?" After seeing Peter slumped in his chair, her heart sank.
"That man holds a Redbud Card. He's extremely wealthy; he has a net worth of at least a billion dollars!" Peter said bitterly, "Mr. Thomas is someone we absolutely cannot afford to offend."
Bonnie's body shook as a sudden realization dawned on her. Such a high-profile client was completely out of her league as a teller.
Remembering how she had treated Ethan, she was overwhelmed with regret and wished she could slap herself.
Having such a VIP's attention should have been like winning the lottery!
Yet, she had managed to push him away and offend him. "Mr. Valdez, you have to help me," she pleaded, clinging to Peter's neck desperately.
"Help?" Peter said, scratching his head irritably. "I'm the one who needs help here! It's not just you; if that gentleman isn't satisfied, he could have me fired with just a word." His words plunged Bonnie into deeper despair.
After a pause, Peter watched Bonnie unbuttoning two buttons of her shirt, revealing a large expanse of her fair, white skin; his eyes lit up. "You said that gentleman kept staring at you? Then there might still be a way out! Bonnie, you have to sleep with Mr. Thomas to beg his forgiveness. We must make it, or we're both finished."
"But..." Bonnie was tearful, hesitant to speak. But soon, she resolved herself, biting her red lips in a mix of shame and embarrassment as she nodded.
Bonnie had no choice but to accept Peter's suggestion, because she cannot afford to lose the job.
After leaving the office tearfully, Bonnie typed and sent the message to Ethan.

Ethan had just left the bank and was on his way to the hospital to pay for Ruby's continued treatment when an Audi A5 suddenly pulled over in front of him. "Look who it is! My former brother-in-law!" Daniel taunted as he leaned out the window, removed his sunglasses, and looked at Ethan with obvious contempt.
"Daniel, fancy seeing you here," Ethan replied with a forced smile. "Where are you headed?"
"Just off to pick up my girlfriend for some alone time. Oh, I forgot. You just got dumped by my sister. Does hearing about happy couples make you jealous? Are you green with envy yet?"
Daniel smirked, eyeing the black trash bag in Ethan's hand, "You know, my sister should have left you sooner. Look at the state of you, scavenging through trash on the streets like a rat, huh?"
Ethan's smile vanished.
Slapping his forehead, Daniel continued, "Oh right, I keep forgetting. Your mom's still in the hospital hanging by a thread. With not a penny to your name, I guess you really do need to pick up trash to scrape by, huh? I mean, considering all the help our family gave you, you have some nerve to divorce my sister. Who knows, if you hadn't divorced, maybe we'd still be helping you."
"Helping?" Ethan laughed bitterly, his stare piercing as he looked at Daniel, "If I remember correctly, didn't I pay for that very car you're driving?"
Daniel's face flushed with anger, and he snapped back with venom, "Bullshit! This is an Audi A5, a car worth over fifty thousand dollars. You think a broke guy like you could buy me this car? Nonsense!" After spitting angrily on the ground, he jumped back into his car, revved the engine, and sped off.
As Daniel drove off, Ethan's anger boiled over. Then, he received a text from Bonnie: [Hello Mr. Thomas, this is Bonnie, who assisted you earlier today. I'd like to invite you to dinner tonight to apologize for my earlier rudeness and ensure you leave completely satisfied.] The text was followed by a red heart emoji.
Ethan got the gist of her message immediately. Normally, he wouldn't entertain the idea of getting involved with someone like Bonnie, but thinking of Daniel's attitude, he scoffed and texted back: [Pick the place yourself—I want the presidential suite!]
