3. The bond

Today I decided to be a bit a early for work because I knew that they will be that lingering scent of his in his cubicle. I inhale it and head to my office. last night I couldn't sleep so such because I was restless all the all time thinking about him, what was he doing, was he with his girlfriend so on but even though all this kept going inside my head I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with him. yeah I know since I just meet him it will sound stupid but I'm an alpha wolf so the moment I meet him the bond from my side was strong so strong. the reason why I was even able to feel his emotions. Their is still an hour before he comes so I'll keep myself busy before he comes.

I check through my new emails and answer then by the time I look up it's almost 8 am.

With the smell of roses and strawberries I can tell he is here, he had already sent the schedule for today. I need to visit and sign a contract with my investor today, she is very dedicated with her work and with her my company we'll reach new heights in this country. she is one of the most successful women in our country people fall on their knees for her so when I told her about my proposal to join her event planning company and be shareholder she agreed, and anyway what can I say I'm very persuasive when it comes to business and my father taught me well. a knock on the door snaps me out of my thoughts. I don't even need guess who is at the door the scent is already saying it.

" come in." I say. he opens the door timidly and close it behind while holding a cup of coffee.

" Good morning Elina." he say while placing the cup near me. I inhale shapely as his scent fills my nostrils, making my heart skip a beat. without stuttering I answer him back. " Good morning to you too Storm."

I sip the coffee, the smell of coffee and his scent mixed together I relish the aroma as the liquid slide down the throat. am brought back by a his phone ringing. he looks at it and clench his jaw and rolling his eyes. he ends it and put it back in his pocket. Even with just a simple outfit he looks perfect, his hair looks it has been touched so many times say maybe through frustration. " Are you okay." I ask him with a bit of concern in my voice. " yes am okay just some personal issue at home." I nod my head at him as if I understand what he talking about.

in all honesty I'm never good when it comes to emotional talk but I'm good when it comes to listening.

" The work you gave me yesterday I couldn't finish it Elina but I promise by the end of today I will finish and hand it to you." he say with a bit of fear in his voice. if only he knew just how it is hurting me to see him

like this. " it's okay hand it over to me as soon as you are done and one more thing we will go for a meeting around 10 so remind me when it's time." I say and he say a quick okay before he leaves.

" he looked broken I wish we could hug him and tell him it's okay." Stormy say feeling sad. " I know I wish we could do that but it will be awkward you that." she lowers her head down and I feel the same. if I could know what happened to him I would love to but I promised I won't go into his personal problems until he opens up to me. I pick my phone and call one person I know would love to hear that I have found my mate. he picks up on the second ring.

" Elina... did you miss me."

he say In a teasing voice. " you wish Daniel, how are you." I reply to him.

" you hurt me with your words Alpha how are you do you want me to come and see you."

" no I just called you to tell something." I hear shuffling before he answer. " ask me what is it are you okay is everything okay." he bombard me with questions and I giggle, this friend of mine.

" yes everything is okay in fact more than okay it's perfect." I tell him and he sighs.

" phew I almost had a heart attack so tell me. what is it did you finally break your v card." he say my face grimace at his word. my ears peak up as I hear Storm shout at someone it seems he is shouting at someone. " hello. Elina are you there." I snap out it. " yes I will call you back later okay." before he can say anything I end the call and open the door and see a fuming Storm going up and down his cubicle. the moment his eyes lands on mine he freezes I see some emotions swirl in his eyes but they disappear as soon as the appeared. did I just see relief and content his eyes wait has the mate bond awaken in him as well. I shake my head and look into his eyes that are still staring at me.

" are you okay Storm." I ask in a neutral voice. " yes am okay I'm sorry if I disturbed you I will switch off the phone." he switch off the phone and put it in the drawer. " I asked if you are okay, you don't look fine to me." I ask him again and this time I close the door to my office and enter his cubicle now we are only a few inches way from each other. I know I don't want to over step my boundaries but we are talking about my mate so I just have to.

" No I'm not okay, my girlfriend cheated on me yesterday or more than yesterday and I found out that she is pregnant but she doesn't know if it's mine or the guy she has been cheating on with." I feel my heart aches at the possibility of the baby been his. I look down to stable my emotions when I look at him again I smile and gives him an encouraging smile.

" I'm sorry to hear that Storm." Stormy whimpers in my head I so much want to touch my heart because it hurts but I can't.

" thanks,..... anyway I wanted to bring this to you for you to check it." I move close to him but not so close, as I read through everything I feel his eyes on me and swallow hard. " this is enough just make a few changes here and their." I point at it and he move close to me to see where am pointing. his arm touch mine accidentally and I shiver as the sparks pass through me in pleasurable way. as him gasp and he attentively look at me as if asking if I felt it but I ignore him and look straight at the laptop.

" I think we just awaken the bond in him." Stormy say.
