"She is mine."
Raiden's voice echoed throughout the entire hall. Low. Powerful. No emotion but power.
Every single one of them froze.
Flora dropped her wine glass and it broke. Mavis let out a loud gasp that turned heads. Eloise's mouth hung open. Even Father's grin trembled as if he were fighting to keep it from falling.
"Alpha Raiden…" Father started, attempting to smile. "You must be confused. Maybe—"
Raiden scowled at him. "I don't repeat myself."
That was it. No shouting. Just calm authority that made the whole room fall silent again.
My chest ached and raced. I couldn't breathe. My heart pounded so loudly I knew everyone could hear it.
Why did he say that? Why me?
Flora leaned forward slightly, her voice low but full of venom. “You’ll regret this, girl.”
