Zane's POV
Since the rejection of our mate, it was as if something drove away all my happiness. Now, I'm thinking that we didn't make the right choice. I tried to calm myself down that it was the effect of losing the mating bond but then it was eating me up. I wondered if it was happening to my brothers too.
Then thinking about how to escape this, I called Mia up. She had stayed away from me when she heard that we already had a mate. Well, she wasn't happy and she tried to pull a fast one on me back then but I was resistant.
But now when I called her back, I could see that she was so excited.
"Alpha, I thought I wasn't going to see you anymore," she said to me with her blue eyes blinking at me.
I didn't call her for chit-chat. I needed her as a distraction. Without even a word to her
