Hold On! I Got Three Alpha Mates?

Chapter Ten

I was pretty sure Sophie was behind the attack. She never had to do the dirty deeds herself. She had a lot of minions to do that for her.

By now, the water that was splashed on me was dripping from my face and some of my hair into my clothes. I looked so pitiful that for a moment, I couldn't speak or say anything.

I just looked on dumbfounded. I had been used to Sophie's bullying and taunts but I never expected something of this sort happening. I had expected it since yesterday when the mate bonding happened but I never knew it would take severity.

" Hey! Are you out of your mind? Do you know what you've just done?" I heard Lena scream beside me.

My head snapped up in time to see Sophie walk closer to us like she was riding on the air. She had on a sassy look on her face that suggested she wouldn't be bothered about us.

She walked up to us like a newly crowned queen who was about to ridicule a deposed queen while her minions ran around and formed a semi circle around us.

I recognized the second speaker from earlier who was among those who were gossiping about me behind my window. She was following behind Sophie who had now stood before us striking a Cleopatra pose and folding her arms across her chest.

She smirked spitefully and walked up to me as she spoke.

" Oh my! Whst a poor thing? Who could have done this? No! Who did this to this poor, timid cat?"

She mocked me as she disgustingly ran her eyes over me while moving around in a calculated way. She got back to stand before me before bursting into a mocking laughter which her minions gladly echoed.

People had already begun to gather in order to watch the show. It wasn't a new sight to them seeing Sophie bully Amber, the pack's weakness.

However, today's spectacle was going to be fun. Everyone would see how Sophie, who was the pack's bully would humiliate the weak omega who was the Alphas' mate. She could already hear the whispers flying around.

" I would love to see how she would work this out herself." I heard someone exclaim excitedly. I wasn't really surprised. My confrontations with Sophie was always everyone's delight.

" What's there to look forward to? There's nothing she would do about it? She's such a pushover. She would only stand there looking like the fool she is."

Someone replied from among those who had stood around to look. Sophie's eyes lighted up in delight as she heard that remark.

" Do you hear that? Everyone knows that there's nothing you can do. I own this pack and can lord over you. I'm pretty sure no one would dare stand up to me because of you." She swaggered as she laid claim to my possession by her.

" Sophie! I'm sure you are sick in the head. Why do you think you can ride roughshod over Amber? What do you want from her? Why do you enjoy bullying her?"

Lena rose to the occasion and stepped in front of me to scream into Sophie's face. I also became angry and balled my hands into fists where I stood behind Lena.

" Wow. This is interesting. I never expected that the little piece of rag would have a lawyer and defender rise to her case.

However," she swatted off Lena like she was a fly, " I wouldn't be bothered about you since I have nothing to say to you. You have no business with you."

She pushed Lena off and came to stand face to face with me.

" Tell me something Amber. I'm curious about how you did it. Are you really capable or did you do it by dubious means?" She asked as she looked down on me from her lofty position.

I made a blank face as I looked at her pretending like I didn't know what she was talking about. I was very much aware of what she was saying. I knew she would be shocked whenever she heard of my mating bond with the Alphas.

" I can see you are lost. You obviously don't know what I'm talking about or you are probably feigning ignorance. Tell me which one you are trying to do?" She asked and crossed her arms akimbo.

I decided to stay silent and not answer her. I'm also lost. I also didn't know what I did to make the moon goddess bestow me with such goodness although it looked like it was a problem at the moment.

"Are you trying to play dumb at the moment!" Sophie screamed harshly into my face. " I'm Sophie and whenever I speak to things like you, I demand answers unless I order you otherwise." She screeched in a loud voice.

She turned around and made a sign to her minions. Before I knew what was going on, two of them had moved towards me. One of them grabbed my hair fiercely while the other had my hands locked behind me in a tight hold.

I could see that another two of them had Lena pinned against the wall with her face turned away from me. Sophie moved towards me and slapped me fiercely across the face.

I growled a deep guttural sound but I wasn't a match for two she wolves who were far stronger than me. All I could do was thrash fiercely while trying to set myself free.

" Come on baby. Not so fast. We don't want you to stress yourself while trying to escape the fate that has been set for you.

All you need to do is tell me what you did in order to become mated to the Alphas. Did you consult a witch? How did you carry out the sacrifice? Should we go talk in private so that others wouldn't hear us?

You know me. I will make sure I take your secret to the grave." Sophie leaned towards me and tried to make me talk. I knew there was nothing I could say since I had no skeleton in my cupboard.

" Sophie, there's nothing I did to make the mate bond happen. I was also surprised when it happened. I think I need to be freed since that's all I have to tell you."

I growled back at her trying to instil the fear that wasn't present into her.

" Such a lame attempt. You know, you should do better than that in order to make me shake. I think I need to punish you so that you would learn your place and also learn not to use witchcraft in getting a mate.

One thing I'm very sure of is that your mates care less about you. If they did, something should have happened which lends credence to the fact that you're worthless and of no value to them."

She told me in derision and made a funny sign. Before I could process what was going on, I felt myself falling to the ground.

All of my attempts in order not to hit the ground proved abortive and I landed with a loud thud on the floor. I was about to jump up when a kick found its way into my stomach.

I rolled over in pain and tried getting up when I felt Lena holding me up. Her eyes were thunderous as she looked at Sophie and her gang. I was about to placate her when I noticed her eyes soften.

I wanted to ask her what was going on when I heard the gamma's voice boom from the doorway. Everyone knew Nathan the pack gamma was a no nonsense man. He was strict and as straight as an arrow.

"What are you doing? What's the meaning of this and why is no one interfering? Do you all enjoy watching the show so much that you couldn't do anything?"

He thundered furiously and rushed to my side. He went to my right side and helped me stand on my feet as Lena was assisting me. I was moved to rest on the wall and from there, I could see all that was happening.

I could see that Sophie wasn't relenting. In fact, she was gearing up for more. She obviously wasn't pleased that someone had stood up to her and saved me from her oppression.

I also noticed something funny going on between Lena and Sophie. While Nathan was busy berating Sophie, Lena's eyes hadn't left him.

She kept stealing glances at him and now that I am leaning against the wall, I could see that both of them were actually giving each other covert glances.

The gears in my head instantly went into overdrive. I forgot that I had a problem to deal with and began to think I furrowed my brows in concentration and began to watch them more closely.

I was suspicious of the fact that this was a new development. Could it be what I'm thinking about? I wondered within myself.
