The moment the loudspeaker crackled to life, my heart slammed against my ribs like it wanted to burst free.
“All recruits, report to the training grounds immediately. The next challenge is a shifting test. Second shifting test begins in fifteen minutes. Attendance mandatory.”
The voice was cold.
