As a dog searched for food inside the garbage dunks outside the city of New York at night, it was suddenly grabbed by someone. The dog barked and howled but soon enough, his body was mangled and covered in blood.
Back at the Midnight Bar, the sirens went off inside the basement. Asseylum stood up from her chair and removed the charger extensions from her neck. She opened her holographic computer screen and looked at the location where the former incident took place. All the boys walked out of the room upon hearing the sirens. There were red lights glowing everywhere.
"Where's Slaine?" She asked.
"He's asleep," Axel told her and she opened the door of Slaine's room. He was sleeping on his bed. She kicked his stomach and he groaned, waking up at the speed of light.
"You! Do you have a screw or two loose?" He said, as his voice hardly left his throat.
"Get up, we need to go on the field,"
"Do you know what time is it?"
It was two in the morning.
"Time doesn't matter. We can't let an X-DROID run open on the streets." She walked out of the room.
"Why is she taking this so seriously? Everything she says is so hard to believe" Slaine yawned and slowly walked out of his room.
Lupin was already ready with the technical setup in the basement, beside which hung a huge preview screen. "You are quick to understand, Lupin. It's exactly as I told you, good job" Asselyum complimented him. "Now connect me with your computer. It's a wireless network protocol, can you do it?" Lupin nodded and started typing a strange program on his computer.
'ACCESS GRANTED, CODE X 777' Asselyum said in a robotic voice. Then, she came back to her senses and found that the preview screen was showing whatever she was seeing with her eyes.
"Cool!"
"Okay boys, we don't have time for this. Listen up." Asselyum said. "I'm gonna tell you something, which you must never forget." She said and all of them formed a circle, including Asselyum, pressing their heads together. Axel stood on a table to reach up to their level of view.
"Remember one thing at all costs-- No matter what you do—do not get infected by Antex. We are going to fight these X-DROIDS, so be careful, especially you, Slaine." Asselyum said.
"Why especially me?" Slaine asked.
"Because you're especially retarded," Jimmy started laughing. Slaine gave him a dirty look. "Now, as per your functions, I function on the 'All for one principle'. I need a technician, for all the computer and technical support and for monitoring my heat levels, damage levels and energy levels; that's you, Lupin." Asselyum said as she looked at Lupin.
"Then, in a fight, some of my parts may get damaged, I need a highly skilled individual to fix those damages, that's you- Axel, the mechanic," She looked at the 13-year-old boy, Axel.
"Then, comes that person, who'll control my moves, that's you--Jimmy, the coordinator,"
"But.. how will I do it?" Jimmy asked.
"Can you see that huge preview screen behind you?" She said.
"Yes..." Jimmy looked at the screen." It looks like a PVR screen"
"That's called the double vision amplifier. It records all my live visual senses and projects it on that screen in real-time. Besides those are the coordination gloves and glasses, if you put those on, you'll be connected with my body and my body will do all the physical actions which your body performs."
"That is definitely worth a try!" Jimmy was excited.
"Jimmy and Lupin will be staying here in the basement while Axel, Slaine and I will go to the field," Asselyum said.
"Wait—What am I supposed to do?!" Slaine said but Asselyum ignored him "Alright boys, we don't have much time, we have to defeat it before it reaches the city." She passed everyone a pair of headsets. As soon as they wore them, they disappeared. "Contact each other using these. Jimmy put on his gloves and glasses.
"Lupin, have you shut down all the cameras of the place where that X-DROID is? I don't want any shreds of evidence" Asselyum asked and Lupin nodded.
"This will be our very first fight with an X-DROID," She brought her right hand forward and everyone did the same. All of them put their hands on each other's hand and Asselyum roared: "Let's win this!" Then, all of them, except Lupin, shouted as they raised their hands "Yeah!"
Slaine and Axel held Asselyum's hand and Asselyum said: "Code—Teleport us!" All three of them disappeared and found themselves near the garbage dunk. "Let's go," Asselyum said.
"Hey, why don't you teleport more often. It saves time." Slaine said.
"Yes, but it takes up energy. It uses 50% of my total energy." Asselyum said.
"What?! Then, how much energy are you left with now?" Slaine asked.
"42% left," She said.
"I'm gonna kick your dumb a*s!" Slaine shouted.
"Guys!" Axel said as he looked above. "It's here." The X-DROID stood at the top of a garbage pile with a piece of flesh in its mouth. Slaine could again feel his body going numb from fear.
"Lupin, can you hear me? I'm counting on you"
The X- Droid ran towards Asselyum. She jumped back and shouted. "Jimmy!"
"Roger!" Jimmy wore black glasses. He could see what Asselyum was seeing and it also appeared on the huge PVR screen in front of him. Lupin looked at the computer screen as his hands continued typing the codes on the laptop which were being transmitted to Asselyum's CPU. He ran towards the X-DROIDS and Asselyum's body followed up.
"Wow! This actually works!" Jimmy was thrilled.
"Don't get distracted," Asselyum said. Jimmy did a backflip and Asselyum did exactly what he did, simultaneously.
"This s**t is f*****g awesome!" Jimmy said.
The X- Droid ran towards Asselyum. Jimmy sat on the ground, stretched out his right leg and rotated it at a 180-degree angle, then quickly got up. Asselyum followed the step simultaneously. The X- Droid tripped on her leg and was left into the air. Jimmy kicked in the air and then landed in a backflip. Asselyum did the same while the X-Droid was in the air and it crashed into the wall of a nearby building.
"This is like a video game—Just better!" Jimmy said. Slaine and Axel stood in a corner and watched her fight.
"I still can't understand what the hell am I supposed to do," Slaine said.
"Jimmy," Asselyum said.
"I'm awesome, ain't—"
"You're slow," She walked towards the X-DROIDS which was lying on the ground near the broken wall.
"What the—"
Slaine and Axel tried to hold back their laugh. "I was perfect!" Jimmy sulked.
"Learn to accept your flaws and stay cautious. You're taking it casually—Do you want to be the first one to die?" Asselyum took out a g*n from her pocket and pointed it towards the X-DROID.
"Well, that surely was easy," Slaine said. As Asselyum was about to shoot, the X-DROID suddenly got up and disappeared. "What was that?" Jimmy said. Lupin hastened his typing and switched on Asselyum's X-ray vision. Everything appeared red to her now. "What is this?" Jimmy said "Nothing is clear. Why are there grids on the screen?"
"Jimmy—Goddammit focus!" Asselyum shouted as she turned back and the X-DROID bit her shoulder. It dug it's teeth deeper inside her artificial muscle fibres.
"Slaine—Come help me!" Asselyum shouted as she threw the g*n at him. He picked it up.
"What do I have to do?"
"I don't know—Put it inside your asshole maybe? Shoot this thing dead!" Asselyum shouted.
"If I have to shoot this then what are you here for?"
"Hurry up," The X-DROID tore away his muscle fibre and she landed on the ground.
"It's not like you'll die," Axel said.
"Why aren't you guys taking this seriously?" She asked.
"Yes, ma'am." Slaine shot the X-DROID but missed it. The X-DROID ran towards him.
"Holy s**t!" The X-DROID almost reached him but suddenly they found themselves back into the basement. Lupin had teleported them back and saved them all.
"Wow haha! It was like some reality show." Axel got up.
"Why are you people like this?" Asselyum got up while holding her wounded shoulders.
"None of you are taking this seriously. I miss my old team so much. You guys are nothing compared to them."
"Oh yeah?" Slaine shouted, "Then, get them here to die!"
"I can't."
"Why?!"
"Because they're dead!"
Axel and Slaine looked at her.
"But they were never casual during a fight and I never had to put so much effort while working with them. They didn't hate each other, we were a team and above that we were friends. They were honoured to be with me—Unlike you ungrateful douchebags! I don't know why I have to deal with human teenagers." She walked out of the basement. They all just stared at him.
"So, robots can get angry too?" Axel asked.
"Maybe she's on her period," Slaine said. Lupin seemed angry to see that they still didn't care about what she said.
"L-Lupin!" Jimmy groaned from behind. Lupin turned towards Jimmy as he hugged him "It hurts..." Jimmy fell on the ground leaving blood marks on Lupin's clothes. He was bleeding right on his shoulders where Asselyum was bitten.
