21 In writing up a progress report of a mini-operation within an operation, Sheldon Myers entered Colonel Georgievich’s codename as LEASH. Because that was the role he’d assigned the Russian to play in pulling in a ‘stray dog’; the ‘dog’, previously known to Georgievich as ‘Lewis’, now being known as ‘Porter’. This devious game of name-switching, in all its subterfuge, was becoming quite familiar to the Colonel, presently enmeshed, as he was, in his own irrevocably perilous game of breaching highly classified Red Army security measures. At the same time placing him in the straits of impasse with a dilemma. Namely, how to fasten the ‘leash’ to that ‘dog’. If he denounced ‘Porter’ as the spy with potential plans to implement sabotage, he would be scuppering large scale US military operation
