5 Clearly, what had been of compelling interest to scholars for centuries had now waned in drawing power with the two men in the ancient manuscripts room of the Institute. Neither Falzoni nor the blond-haired man in russet Norfolk jacket was giving any real attention to the manuscripts in the glass cases over which they stooped, shifting and turning like restless bloodhounds.
