My heart was beating fast, almost to the point where I thought it would jump right out of my chest. I knew it was wrong, I knew that doing this would mean taking ten steps backwards when I haven't even begun to move forward. A week ago I wouldn't have cared, a week ago I wouldn't have given this a second thought, but now I was filled with uncertainty because I knew what it felt like to be hurt, to feel true pain. It took my mate cheating on me to realize what I had done to so many others and without that revelation I have no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't have cared, I would have just had fun, I would have given myself to this charming stranger with no regrets.
