Arrogance and Desire

It was a bright Monday morning with the sun shining so bright and radiating throughout the sky. I was dropped by my driver, who drove off immediately without any hesitation.I walked into the compound looking so confused and deviated because it was a new start for me and I just wasn't ready for it yet, but with the conditions at hand, I had no other option than to go ahead with what I had.

I was still trying to find my way around the school premises when someone walked up to me and touched me from behind.

“Hi,I'm Ella. Seems you are new to the school?

“Yes I'm, and I'm trying to locate the administration block.

“Worry not, I'm going to take you there. What is your name if you don't mind?

“My name is Clara “I replied with a smile.

“Wow, that's a nice name you got there," she replied happily.

I was wondering what was making her feel this excited, because there was nothing exciting happening around us.

We walked a few steps ahead and then bumped into one of the students calling out for her.

“Ella”, Who are you with, and why is she looking that way?

"She is a new student," Ella replied.

After a few minutes, we got to the administrative block. "Oh, we are here already," Ella said.

"Thank you so much for your assistance. "I will see you around then, I said to her before leaving.

After the clearance of the administrative block, I collected my room key and left for my hostel immediately.

I got to my hostel, opened the door and beheld a beautiful and well-furnished apartment stirring at me with lovely interior decoration and a lovely bed that made me feel sleepy immediately.

I took my things in and sat down on my bed looking so exhausted after the whole stress of clearance. While in bed, I was far gone with thinking “Is this the college I have been hearing about? If it's, then it will be fun indeed.

After resting for a while, I decided to summon the courage to arrange my things and rearrange such settings, and by 8:pm I was done, looking fulfilled. I stared at my room as if it wasn't mine. While on it, my phone rang.it was my mom, and it made me happier.

“Hello mum” I said

“How are you doing, my darling? ""I know you had a very long day today”, my mum replied.

I'm stressed out, but I think my room made my day. It gave an exclusive and luxurious mom.

“You know we want the best for you, and we are not going to stop until you get all the best you ever need .

“I love you mom” I replied.

“Love you too, baby, make sure you behave yourself, bring out the best in you and make us all proud.”

“Definitely I will, mum.” Let me go freshen up and catch you later.” Bye

“Bye”.

The call ended, and I made my way straight to the bathroom to take my shower, came out after some minutes and jumped into my lovely set of nightwear I got while coming to school.

While I was trying to get some snacks ready, because I couldn't cook anything that night, I heard a knock at the door. Firstly, I was surprised. Who could it be at this time of night and what in the name of God does he/she want?

Getting to the door, yes, who is it, and what can I do for you?” I asked?

I'm your neighbor. I wanted to know how you are settling down and if you need any help at all.

Oh! Oh thanks for the kind gesture, but I'm fine, and I just settled down already.

“Alright dear”, see you around.

I went back to the kitchen, grabbed some snacks and drinks and made my way to my bedroom.

After consuming my snacks, I decided to scroll through social media before finally going to bed.I was still scrolling when I slept off.

I woke up immediately and my alarm rang off, because I was still tired from yesterday's stress. I snoozed off my alarm and slept back.

I woke up 4hours later, feeling a bit better and energetic. Looking at my phone, I saw a missed call from my brother. I think he missed me. This one he called.

I called back and he picked him up immediately.

“Hello” How are you doing? He asked.

“I'm Fyn”. I just woke up to see your missed calls.

“Well, I decided to check on my last baby to know how she is doing.”

“Awwww“ I'm doing great, my room is nice, and the school environment is good. I replied .

“As long as you are fine, then I'm okay. Make sure you let me know if you need anything at all.

“Definitely I will, bro“ I replied happily.

“Alright, take care of yourself” he said, and dropped the call.

Well, well, well, if you've been thinking about who I'm, then don't bother because I'm going to tell you .

I'm Clara, a 22-year-old lady who just got admitted into the university of her dreams.

I'm the last child of my family and the only girl child out of 4 boys. My brothers are my pride and my parents my backbone.

I lack nothing, if I'm to say, because my parents and brothers made sure I had everything I ever wanted. I was loved by all at home and pampered by all.

My brothers are actually done with school, except my immediate younger brother, who is still in school. I love spending time with my family, but I had to make something out of my future by going to school.

I checked my phone only to receive a notification that we have classes in an hour.

I wasn't sure I was ready to resume yet, but I had to go. Immediately, I dropped my phone and ran off to the bathroom to take my bath, and in less than an hour I was done and ready for school. I made a cup of coffee to start my day with and took some snacks into my bag. I left my room immediately, locked the door and set off for school.

On my way, I bumped into some guy along the alley that leads to my school. I was afraid at first, but I summoned the courage and walked towards their

direction .
