Drunk And Beautiful

The dark hallway of this huge house resembled an abandoned alley in a moonless night with it's lampposts not working. And the person in front of me was like the psycho guy the heroine would run in, in the said alley, in the movies. Maybe it was the alcohol driving my imagination wild but, Jayson looked ten times creepier and scary, right now. "Enjoying the party?" He slurred, clearly tipsy. "What do you want, Jayden?" I scowled, wanting nothing more than to kick him where the sun doesn't shine and ran off. "Ah, nothing," he waved his hand. "I saw you here and thought might as well say hi." " Hi, Jayden. Now, if you would f**k off..." I started to walk away but the fucker flared his arms, blocking my way. "No, wait. I wanted to say... I wanted to—f**k! I can't remember. Wait a sec. Oh, yeah." He blubbered for a while as I crossed my arms in annoyance and glared at him. "I wanted to say that, the first day we met, when you kicked me out of my seat? Yeah. I was so pissed off that day. Nobody had ever rejected me before, you know? So, that got to me." I listened with a bored face as he droned on. "Then the other day I heard you hit Sam—" "Who's Sam?" I interrupted not having remembered the name whatsoever. "The guy who asked you for homecoming and you punched him," Oh. I nodded. "Man, he still has a little black spot on his jaw." He chuckled before cackling like a f*****g hynah, doubling over hitting his knee. I grimaced. "And then I realized, I was a lucky bastard because, I only had to leave a seat but Sam got to have a sucker punch on his face." He finished when he sobered up. "And why would it concern me?" I quirked up my brows and leant on the grey wall and he mimicked me on the opposite side. "Well, I'm over it so, I thought we could start over as friends—" "I've told you before and I'll tell you again. I have friends. No thanks." "So, we can be more than friends if you want." He smirked at me. I gagged. "Actually, I'm very far from taking someone as more than friends but, even if I was, you would be the very last person for me to consider." His face contorted into a pained one. Of course, fake. "That hurt, really." He put a hand on his chest for additional effect. "But, what kind of guy you would consider? Tell me, I can be whatever you want, baby." I snorted. "You are a cocky little thing, aren't you?" "Well, I can't say I'm not. I'm quite popular and the girls basically throw themselves at me, so I guess I've got the privilege to be cocky. Being a quarterback has it's perks, you know?" I rolled my eyes. "But, not with me. So get your stinky body away from me, got to have some fresh air. And just FYI, I am not considering anyone." I grumbled. " No, seriously. You are missing out, Fiona. You're hot and you should find someone as hot as you—preferably me—and enjoy your highschool time." "Oh, you opened my eyes with your great speech. Now let me go and conquer the world." I started to walk away but he stopped me. "Hey, Fiona—wait—" he got a hold on my wrist but before I could throw a punch from my other hand, a familiar voice spoke up. "Get your hands off of her, Jay." He said nearing us. Jayden smirked dropping my hand. "Done. Don't get worked up, Hartford. I think she knows how to handle herself." "I know what she can and can't do. I just don't want your dirty hands touching her." Chase snapped now standing between him and me like a f*****g border, not allowing me to see his face. "Woah. You make me sound like a bad guy. C'mon, I'm not that bad, Chase." Jayden pouted and I could see the muscles on Chase's hand flexing when his fists clenched. "Let's go, Chase." I tugged on his arm and he didn't resist the way I thought he would. "Bye, Fiona. See you later." Jayden waved from behind and earned a middle finger from me. When we reached the ground floor again I noticed that the place has become even more crowded than before and both the girls were nowhere to be seen. I realised that I really needed that fresh air, right now. "Hey, I am going outside for a bit! You stay, enjoy!" I shouted in his ears. He frowned. "No. I—I'll come, too! I need to get away for a while, it's too hot in here!" He led us to a glass door at the back which over looked a backyard lighted with a single bulb on the porch. On the way, I picked up two drinks in both hands. When outside, I took deep breaths of the welcoming cool air. For a second, I just enjoyed the way the air was rustling my hair and fanning my cheeks that were warm from all the alcohol I've been consuming. This was a good way to sober up. Remembering the drinks, I offered one to Chase and just then I noticed he was already looking at me. "No, I've had enough. I'm the chauffeur tonight, remember?" The crooked smile on his lips was what compelled me to copy it, too. "Okay then, driver. I'll have to have both of them, I guess." I said already bringing the cup to my lips. "There are chairs if you want to sit." He gestured to my left and we both settled down, side by side, on the chairs on the porch. We sat there in silence for a while. My mind was going back to the words Jayden had said. I know I'm hot and as a normal teenager I should have a boyfriend to spend this early youth. But, I'm far from normal. Since forever, boys have only triggered certain emotions in me. Annoyance. Anger. Violence. Not once I've thought about a boy even remotely romantically and the only physical contact I've had with any boy is with either through my fist or my foot. Movie stars, singers and models are a different case. They are good to look at and I don't have to worry about their personality wondering if they are bad people because, I will never ever come face-to-face with them. But considering people—with that intention in my mind—who are actually around me and I have to see them on regular basis, makes the whole imagining thing difficult. I will know everything about them like what they do, what they are good at, what their flaws are, who they had hurt and why they are not good enough. I know I'm more paranoid than I should be but I have this fear that every other boy is the f*****g same. They think that dominance is their birth right and it looks good on them and they can use it to get anything they want. I mean—and the whole world knows—musculinity is in protecting, not forcing. In one way or another, I've seen every guy flex their masculinity like they've earned it when infact, it is just a Y sperm infusing with the X egg. "You still there?" Chase waved his hand in front of my face startling my semi-drunk mind. "Yeah, yeah. I just—I was thinking." I shrugged looking at his face. The small bulb was behind so, the light didn't directly fall on his face. He had frown on his forehead but his eyes were still smiling. Maybe, it was the light from the lamppost on the street outside that glinted from his eyes and it was like I was looking at him for the first time. Did his upper lip always look like a bow? Was his jawline always this sharp? Was his dimple always this cute? "You're beautiful." I thought I only said it in my mind but the bashful smile that came on his lips and the way his eyes looked away…I didn't. "And you're drunk," He nervously chuckled. "And by the way, I'd have more liked handsome than beautiful." "Why? Is it because girls are called beautiful and boys are called handsome? The rule of masculinity?" "No. Everyone could be called beautiful. It's just that a guy likes to be called handsome by beautiful girl. And for the record, you are beautiful, too." He smiled. But not in the way that Jayden did when he called me hot. It was like, when you look at the sunset while on the beach and smile, and say 'its beautiful.' He prove that he is just as beautiful inside, as he is outside. His mouth doesn't come up with crude words like the other guys, even when slightly tipsy. And for once, I felt like I could be with a guy without overthinking it, even for a little while. That thought scared me as s**t but warmed my stomach, too. Maybe, it was the alcohol still buzzing my head—I've had four...no, six drinks,— I slightly leant in. "Chase?" "Hmm?" "Can I ask you something?" My eyes were so focused on the freckles that dusted his nose and faded on his cheeks, that I thought imagined how he, too, slowly leant in and the slight tremor in his voice when he replied. "You can ask me anything, Fiona." My hand came up to rest on the nape of his neck as I pulled him in and whispered, "Kiss me."
