"Are you going to just stand there? Use your feet and come here, you lazy lady." He snickered. Most probably because his lazy rhymed with lady. I took in the t.v playing a basketball match, a half eaten pizza on the coffee table and a blanket half sprawling on the floor with my grandfather laying atop it on the couch.
"Yeah... It will seem like I'm the lazy one." I said and fell on the love seat.
"Hey! I caught your sarcasm! What do you want me to do? To run laps outside? I'm an old man for f**k's sake!" Does your grandpa curse like this in front of you too?
"I don't know. Die... maybe? 'coz you're so old." I grumbled.
He feigned a gasp. "You... Don't you know how to respect elder people?"
"You never taught me how to." I shot back. "All you ever did was teach me every f*****g curse word and how to give someone a black eye." I picked up a slice of pizza from the table.
"Hey, that was mine." He complained shooting forward. I hurriedly took a bite from it. "Now, it's not." I smiled cheekily.
His old drooping grey eyes twitched humorously before his as well aged thin lips tilted up at the corners. "I've taught you well." He leaned back on the couch, now smiling proudly.
"Eh. I was born a badass, you didn't do nothing." Before he could protest, I left my seat. "I'm going upstairs. Don't forget to clean that up before mom comes home." I said pointing to all of the mess he had made.
He sighed. "You will help this poor old man with this, won't you?" He made himself sound tired and his voice raspier, like he was ninety rather than sixty five.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, you'll live."

"How was school, honey?" Mom asked, picking her salad. "It was okay, I guess." I shrugged. "So, no broken bones ,then?" Dad chimed, from where he sat across both of us.
"No. No broken noses." I smiled.
"Not yet." Pops added.
Mom glared at him. " Don't encourage it, in front of me, atleast, please."
Pops dismissed her with a wave of his hand. "You know it will happen sooner or later." Dad chuckled at her offended expression.
My family is just like that. Never taking anything seriously. Maybe, because it has always been like this or maybe they don't want to make this a depressing issue for anyone. Who knows?
I cleared my throat. "I've decided to avoid it, from now on."
"You already avoid it, every f*****g day." Pops, is immune to my mother's glare, by now.
"Yeah... but, I meant to say..." The fork in my hand clinked against the plate rhythmically, and mom's eyes narrowed in on my actions. I dropped the beat.
"I trying a change. I will not react, not with violence atleast, and maybe. Maybe I'll try to befriend them. I mean," I didn't notice the scraping sound beside me.
"There are those two boys, Bree's friend and I think they're not too bad, so-" my voice got lost in my mother's sweater. She was pressing me tightly, almost painfully, to her.
"My baby. I'm so proud that you're thinking like this. I thought that I'll have to-"
"Don't you dare complete that sentence, mom." I threatened prying her hands off of me. She'd already said the same thing a couple of dozen times before, that she should lock me in a house full of boys for days. Atleast twenty.
Mom resettled in her seat, still smiling all joy. "So, tell me about those boys." Mom wiggled her brows making dad fake gag.
"Please. I don't want my daughter talking boys while I'm eating." Dad begged, exasperated. " Oh, come on. It's not like she's talking about her crush. They are boys all she will have to say about them will come out of the curse word vocabulary I made." Pops commented stirring his soup.
Mom rolled her eyes at that. "Oh, you come on. This is a sudden change of behavior. Which means that she had experienced something different this time which had triggered a new emotion in her. We can term it as attraction. Or as you said, crush." Mom explained her theory, going in her full psychologist mode.
My family's conversations are pretty ass good if you are bores and want to watch some drama but , I for one, am not a great fan of the drama thing.
And definitely a f*****g no, when it's about me. Therefore,
"I don't have a f*****g crush on any f*****g boy! Or any f*****g person! Am I allowed to eat my f*****g dinner on this table, or not?!" I exploded and everything around me became dead silent. Good.
Anyone didn't dare look at me. They know to surrender if I become all cursing and yelling on family members. I shouldn't have done that. But it is hard yo control when they talk about things like this. I'm uncomfortable, I'm easily angered and maybe I'm spoilt, too. But things are more complicated. Things aren't normal. I wish they were, but they are not.
The rest of the dinner, no one reapproached the topic and that I'm thankful for. They asked to pass around the food and threw in the snippets of their days.
Which led to how pops had left the living room still messy. He blamed it on his aching back and I blamed it on his quite obvious laziness. Everyone on the family knows that that old man hits the f*****g gym atleast once in a day.
As I've warned, he got an earful from mom but a little butter coating and mom was off of his back. This has always been the dynamic of their relationship. They argue a lot, they love a lot and they respect each other a lot.
I went to kitchen to help mom with the dishes. She sneaked peeks at me from the corner of her eyes. I sighed in defeat.
"There are those two boys, Chase and Matt. They were not all cocky and flirty and desperate. They didn't force me to talk. Didn't stare too long and kept to themselves. It was fine." I blurted in one go.
Mom smiled her eyes that were identical to mine gleamed in approval. Mom being the psychologist, tries to make to open up. Something about not bottling the emotions and accepting my own feelings.
"I'm proud of you." She said nothing else. Maybe to give me space after that. I left her to place the dishes back and went to my room on the second floor.
The door was white, clean of any stains or writings. My room was something that looked like it roomed a person with a personality disorder. The huge bed was all draped in the bluest of blues with a black background at it's head. On the left was a huge ass mirror and a vanity table with all my makeup tools neatly organized and it was surrounded with marvel posters.
To the right was the space for a bay window with a built-in bench, a closet and a door which led to the bathroom. Every wall was a different colour. Black, cream, a baby pink and a baby blue with clouds on it.
I changed into my PJ's and jumped into my bed. Raising the sheets up to my chest, one leg in an one leg out, I hovered my phone above my face and scrolled through i********:. Only when my eyes burned and itched I put the phone away and went to sleep.

The bell for the end of the first period rung over head and the students hurried out of their seats and the classroom. The moment I turned the corner to go to my next class, someone shouted behind me and caught up.
"You are Fiona, right? The new girl?" She asked shooting me a smile. "Yes." I nodded.
She was a brunette, pretty brunette, if I say so myself. Sharp eyebrows, wide brown eyes, a straight nose and pouty lips. And a great figure, too. A cover model for a hot beautiful girlfriend.
"Hi. My name's Caly. Caly Johnson. skipping to the business, I'm leader of the cheer leading squad, there's a vacant position and I think you can be a good addition to us. What do you think?" She asked, her lips furrowed hopefully.
"Thanks for the offer but, I'm not interested. Sorry." I instantly answered. f**k knows I wouldn't trade my precious time for jumping and hopping in the air.
"Well, that was fast," she chuckled. "But, find me if you change your mind."
"I don't think it will come to that."
"Ah, you're so cruel," she looked up at the ceiling a smile still on her face. "Maybe, if you know someone who's interested then, tell them to see me, would ya?" She quirked an eye brow, taking a step back already.
Passing her a thumbs up, I too went my way but not before I crashed my nose into someone's chest.
"Oww." I rubbed my nose.
"Oww" he rubbed his chest in the middle, where it had clashed with me. "What's your nose made of? Steel?" He chuckled.
A dimple, more so a vertical line, indented his right cheek, his lips thinning into a smile. "I wish it was." I grumbled still tending to my nose.
Maybe, it hit one of his ribs.
"So, are you planning to ditch us?" Chase casually asked walking with me. "What?"
"It seemed like you were making friends. With Caly." Oh.
"No, I wasn't befriending her. God knows I don't want that. She was just asking me to join the cheerleader's squad." I replied. Rather stiffly. It's not as easy as flipping a switch and dive into gossip with him.
"You're joining then?" He asked. His eyes raking all over my features. Drop that, dude.
"Nope. Not interested." I said facing ahead and speeding up just a little. "Okay, well, that's my stop." He pointed and halted in front of the next classroom.
"Hey, Fiona?" He called. "Yup." I turned to him.
"Everyone is going for ice-cream in the lunch period. You're coming too, right?" He said biting the edge of his lips maybe, in hope.
"I don't know...." Before I could completely decline he added,
"Oh, come on. I'm paying." I sighed.
"Is Ashton coming, too?" I hoped not. Ice-cream sounded quite appealing to drop because of an asshole.
"Don't worry. I'll keep in mind to collar him." He chuckled.
"If you say so." I smiled back. And this time, it was not a strained one.
A charming smile took up his face."see you in the parking lot, then." He winked at me and disappeared somewhere into the swarm of studedents

"Shotgun!" Matt shouted and sprinted to a black SUV. Before he could pass us Mia swatted him on the head and earned a middle finger and a "f**k you b***h!" in return.
Ignoring him, she hopped in the driver's seat and put on black glasses. "Are those mine?" Chase asked to no one in particular.
"No, they're not. I found them in my backseat last weekend and the one who finds, is the one who owns." She replied and started the car, it's engine roaring to life.
"Now get in the f*****g car, losers! Ice-cream is waiting!" Matt screamed at us.
"And that hot lady on the payment counter, too. But not for you guys, obviously for me." f*****g Ashton added his unwanted opinion, too, and slipped in the middle row followed by Chase who threw an apologetic look at me.
I shrugged and went to the back row with Bree. The moment we sat and the car set in motion, Ashton turned to look at both of us and opened his obnoxious mouth.
"I think we should change partners. And honestly, I'll take anyone of you, I'm not a biased person, you know?" He winked.
"Motherfu-" Bree stopped me before I could punch him in the face and then Chase literally gagged him with a handkerchief, for the whole ride.
Matt turned in his seat and snapped a picture of a scowling and gagged Ashton. "Woah, this will make a real good meme stuff," he sighed dreamily. "I've been waiting for this f*****g moment for so long."
