"What the hell, man?!" I shrieked. Chase has a girlfriend? Oh god, someone was so gonna die on my hands.
A laughter met my ears. "Oh my—f**k, your face… you should've seen your face!" He was doubling over, clutching his stomach, red in the face.
That Asston.
He was f*****g with me.
"Did you really f*****g believe it? That Chase would do some s**t as low as playing with two girls at the same time?" It was clear that he wasn't accusing me; he was just pulling my leg in good humor.
But I couldn't overlook the sinking feeling in my stomach as I realized that I really did f*****g believed it. Damn.
"No, I—you caught me off guard." I mumbled, rushing in the cafeteria trying to hopefully leave the conversation behind.
"Well actually, he told me that he really likes you." Ashton whispered in my ear, causing me to temporarily halt and making a slow s**t-eating grin rest on my face.
"Okay…" I finally plopped into my seat between Chase and Mia.
Matt was sitting with Bree when Ashton smacked his head and demanded he get his ass up from his seat.
"So guys," Mia started, picking a single fry from Ashton's tray. "Where are we heading to after school?"
"I think we should go to Fiona's place, we've never been there." Matt shrugged and positive responses came from everyone.
I saw Chase leaning in from my peripheral and automatically, goosebumps raised upon my skin. "Are you still on board with the idea of sneaking off?" He whispered in my ears.
I slowly swiveled my head to look him in the eye. "I'm not the one to break promises. I keep my word." I mumbled as a smirk crept up my lips, gaining his attention.
His eyes rested there for a few moments before coming back up. "Good." And this time, his voice was deeper and more grave than before.
"Ugh…" Mia groaned from beside me. "No offense, but if you two want to suck each other's face, go do it somewhere else. People are trying to f*****g eat here."
I startled and my knee jumped to get acquainted with the underside of the table.
Holy mother of all w***e bitche—
I cautiously looked up to see if anyone heard what Mia or Chase or I said but everyone was conveniently busy with stuffing their faces.
But right before I could breathe a sigh of relief, Bree gave me a side eye and winked.

Joining St. George has brought a lot of firsts in my life.
Befriending guys.
Kissing a guy.
Actually liking the said guy.
And having a whole ass group of friends who are internally modified to cause a lot of noise and chaos wherever they went.
And today was another first. First time having friends over at my house—except Bree, of course.
I am not saying I am nervous 'cause I'm not. It just feels weird, actually. I didn't know any hosting etiquettes, not that there should be any for close friends.
Should I arrange them snacks and s**t í? The time when we all were over at Ashton's, his mom was there to do that. But my mother dearest is at work. Maybe I'll just call her to ask that. Yeah.
Next thing, should I take them in my room or let them be in the living room? f**k, I don't know!
Talking about the living room, Pops was meant to arrive later in the evening. First priority first, I needed to get the gang out of here before he got his lazy ass in the same house as them.
I know he'll purposefully be a douchebag to all the boys just for the sake of embarrassing me.
I parked my car in my usual spot under the tree and the rest of the vehicles followed. The twins were riding together, Chase was in his Tessa and Ashton has made a recent development in his and Bree's relationship by picking her up for school every day.
Unfortunately, to my utter disappointment, the Scott parents had fallen to his supposed charms and blessed the couple. What a shame…
We all got out of our respective cars and trudged up the walkway to my front door.
Matt moaned rubbing his stomach beside me, "God, I'm so hungry, Fiona. I'm warning you beforehand, I'm gonna raid your fridge."
Mia scoffed. "You just ate a pack of Oreos in the car, you pig."
"So what?" He shrugged in response. "I'm a growing man, I need a lot of calories and may I remind your forgetful ass that even that pack was shared." That left Mia gaping.
"You gave me like…only one f*****g piece!"
"That is called sharing."
Rolling her eyes at them, Bree pulled her boyfriend inside and in the haste of getting something in his stomach, Matt trailed behind them.
Ignoring us completely, Mia huffed and stomped inside, too. Then we were alone. Him and I. In front of my house. The last time he was here, we were about to go shopping.
As if he could read my mind, he spoke up. "You remember when I asked you to go shopping with me?"
I turned to see him biting his lips and nodded. "Yeah, I do. It was for your cousin's wedding, wasn't it?"
He chuckled nervously and shoved his hands in his pockets, kicking something completely invisible to my eyes. Cute.
"Well, no. Actually, I wanted to confess something." My eyebrows went up.
"Okay, go ahead."
"Actually, it wasn't for—there was no wedding—not then, I mean. I just wanted to…wanted to spend time with you, so I made that up." He was trying to not fidget but couldn't help biting his lips. Lips that I liked kissing until they get swollen.
Was I supposed to get angry at his confession? When it actually meant that he just wanted to spend time with me? Not to mention, he didn't even try to make any moves that day.
I shuffled on my feet until I was standing right in front of him. I snaked my arms around his neck and leaned into him, standing on my toes. "Hmm," I drawled in false contemplation. "Should I be angry?"
He caught up on my intentions and wrapped his arms around my waist. "If you're asking for my opinion, I'll say forgive me with a sweet kiss and I can show my gratitude with a kiss in return." f**k, I wanted him to spare his and bite my lip, Instead.
"That's a fine proposal, I guess" I murmured and planted my mouth on his. As soon as he responded by sucking on my bottom lip, I pulled away creating a distance between us. "Now that it's done, come on, they will all suspect something's going on."
"Fine." He sighed, dejectedly. Something passed his face, like he wanted to say something that he was afraid I wouldn't like and I had an inkling that it was about the secrecy of our almost relationship. But he shook himself out of it and instead said, "But you do intend to keep your promise, though, right?"
"Oh, you bet, pretty boy." I blew him an air kiss and ran inside, watching him scratching his hand.
As soon as I stepped into the main room, the undeniable smell of chicken pasta came wafting in my nostrils. "Mom! Are you home?!" I called.
But the voice that responded, wasn't her's.
"Oh my baby! Come here, let me give you a welcome home kiss!" He shrieked in fake high-pitched voice from the kitchen.
The f**k? Ry?
